You do realize that MFR has been around for just as long as these, right? It didn't kill Forestry then and it hasn't killed it now. I can tell you've never even touched Buildcraft's gates and pipe wires if you think ExU is somehow a replacement for Buildcraft. You do realize that you're...

    FTB Horizons: Daybreaker Discussion

    1. RFDrills! Thermal Expansion-based version of the IC2 mining drill. 2. I like stuff I have to set up farms for, like TE's reactant dynamos. At its easiest it's just a sugarcane farm and a sewer with some cows on it, but you can go the more interesting mob drop route too (blaze powder, ghast...

    FTB 1.9

It would definitely be just a modpack version, since the first 1.9 snapshot was just released the other day.

    [Thaumcraft 4.2] Wand Recharge Room

Pale nodes recharge more slowly; I have barely touched Thaumcraft recently (busy learning tech mods I never touched), but I do recall that every captured node has a pretty high chance to get downgraded during the capturing process. So it's purely a matter of pace. If pale nodes recharge fast...

How do you like mods to be balanced?

Okay, yeah, flight is pretty fantastic for building. And it does have its moments for me; I'll go through phases where I want the "I AM A GOD NOW" feeling I got when I made my first quantum suit back in Ultimate and phases where I want stuff closer to vanilla (love the Traveler's Gear from TiC...

    Redstone control

Project Red is your best bet for any kind of logic gate like that. I love making redstone circuits with its gates and red alloy wire.

Wait, the reason you don't use IC2 is it didn't change enough? That is definitely the first time I've heard that complaint about post-1.5 IC2.

Yes you do. The only pack I play without Buildcraft, in fact, is one I made for myself made up of mods that have Thermal Expansion-based recipes. I love Buildcraft and its pipes; and its logic gates and pipe wires are absolutely incredible for automating things. It's a mod that you can start...

Ask a simple question, get a simple answer

No, not the painter. I forget what it was called, but it looked like some kind of remote. You right-clicked a block with it, then right-clicked construction foam and it would take on the texture of the first block on that side. I remember doing brick on the outside and oak wood planks on the...

Oh, dang. Does IC2 still have its item to let you disguise construction foam? I remember using that back in Unleashed (1.5.2); it could do each side separately.

Ask a simple question, get a simple answer

EnderIO has a painter that can do that.

What Part of Minecraft Do You Enjoy Most?

I like doing the same thing in my tech packs. I like to take screenshots all throughout the progress so I can go back at any time and see what I progressed from. I typically make my first base out of whatever materials I find nearby (I especially like to do this with BoP materials like red rock...

How do you like mods to be balanced?

I'm not a fan of flight (except for when I'm filling out a map, then I just go to creative mode), since I do think it discourages infrastructure a bit. In an Extreme Hills biome near a giant cliff between you and a village? Better tunnel through it and build a road or a rail line too, if you...

I Derp, You Derp, We all Derp, What's your's?

I've done the same; lesson learned was to just put the chunk loader a few blocks away from the pump instead of on it. I spent so long figuring it out, too.

    Automating Buildcraft with AE2

I view that as a feature rather than a shortcoming. This way you can do multi-step autocrafting by having a line of assembly tables, each one outputting into the next.

Request Looking for mod similar to Damage Indicators for 1.7.10

WAILA shows mob health, but it may not be the look you're going for. It just adds the hearts onto the tooltip when you look at a mob, rather than the RPG-ish pop-up that damage indicators does.

    FTB Ultimate

Like RedBoss said, they're two separate mods. I do seem to remember Direwolf20's 1.4.7 pack having compact solars instead of advanced, so you could try that pack instead.

How do you like mods to be balanced?

This is something I've really loved about Buildcraft: the simplicity. It's a different kind of simplicity than, say, MFR; it's a very scalable kind of simplicity. The recipes for things are incredibly easy (want pipes? Glass and cobble. Want autocrafting? Crafting table and gears), and it really...

    Direwolf20 season 7 - Huzzah!

I like having to power dimensions; the absurd amount of resources you can get from a properly built dimension merits some sort of upkeep cost to me. It also gives a purpose to build absurd power generation other than just "for the heck of it". I also tend to separate my magic mods and tech mods...
