I saw a few posts about FTB 1.9 I am confused as to how I get this as I go to any mod pack and the higest is 1.8.2.

Try going into your journey map settings and turning of some of the things. I found a thread about where minecraft does this thing that it renders the mobs that are being seen by the map to the world.

I think the advanced gives you a bit more functionality but oherwise you'll be ok to start with regular. The normal pale can be a problem as it slows their recharge and I think lowers their highest amount. Thats the benefit of the advanced stabilizers is if I remember right they have a chance...
