    Ultimate Pack

Active resistance towards doing so certainly isn't encouraging me. You literally just said "Change the configs to something you can live with or don't play with his toys" in response to me talking about modding his mod. And I note you have no response to his config files being non-trivial to...

    Ultimate Pack

The very idea that I can't mod a mod is yet another problem I have with the Minecraft community, currently. CovertJaguar is an ideal example. Again, as I've said, his config files are a confusing mess, and I wouldn't be surprised if they're that way intentionally. He has recipe changes in...

    Ultimate Pack

Except that I'm not happy, even now. Mystcraft, for example, is missing functional viewing panels. When those come out, I would like to update Mystcraft so that those are in there. Ditto to a hundred other things in a dozen other mods. My "core" issue is one mod author being bull-headed...

    Ultimate Pack

Except that in reality, I'm having to deal with mod compatibility. So even IF I do all the work myself, I'm still having to deal with situations such as the version of Thaumcraft I want to update to requiring Forge version 1234 (I don't follow version numbers, so I made one up) and the version...

    Ultimate Pack

The whole idea of using FTB and a launcher is to have an easy experience. If I wanted to mess with configs and update mods on my own, I'd do that. It's a shame there's no way of blocking updates to GregTech. I want to lock that guy out of messing with my worlds once I have my stuff set up.

    Ultimate Pack

Ok. How do I custom-build a modpack in the launcher? I want to remove Voxelmap (or whatever it's called) because it's designed for creative-mode environments, but I'd like to try putting Rei's Minimap back in. And I'd like to remove flat bedrock entirely. Also, how do I lock GregTech's config...

    Ultimate Pack

I said attitude. i.e. The way that you either have to play the game *his* way or 1. Ask on a forum how to fix his changes back to where they aren't screwing with the balance of other mods 1b. get shouted at for not just uninstalling the mod (despite the fact that I don't want to) 2. Try...

    Ultimate Pack

GregTech's author's attitude (and CovertJaguar's) are the main reasons I'm starting to sour a bit on FTB. Just in time for whatever this "Technic Platform" is comes out. Do I misremember things, or did the FTB people not explicitly say that the Ultimate pack would have GregTech's nerfs to...

    Ultimate Pack

Bronze is nerfed so it's 3 copper, 1 tin for only 2 bronze (not four like Forestry is balanced for), so it looks like it's on hard mode. A shame, too, since this means that it's more difficult to try out the mods that Gregorious decides he doesn't like.

Why is this Industrial Steam Engine about to explode?

I'm not sure buildup even exists in the beta pack, as I've seen a series of eight combustion engines pouring energy into pipes, and that energy was doing nothing (quarry was done). Regardless, one steam engine at half power isn't going to make anything explode. Two at full *might*, but I'm...

Why is this Industrial Steam Engine about to explode?

That was it, thanks. A simple wood>gold worked, fixed everything. Instead of it building up to 29000+ MJ in the buffer, it equalized at 5000MJ.

Why is this Industrial Steam Engine about to explode?

I have an Industrial Steam Engine pointed at a Refinery. The steam engine is powered by a single high-pressure boiler (1x1). So it's not even running at the full 8MJ/t capacity it has, but instead at 4MJ/t. The refinery isn't running as quickly as it could (the efficiency bars are blue, one...

Can I automate the shift-click of a crescent hammer?

Is there a way to use a Deployer or other similar block to shift-right-click a crescent hammer?

    End Portal in FTB?

I managed to replicate the experience of an Eye of Ender taking me to a spot where there was no gate or stronghold. This was in the FTB Beta Pack, for Minecraft 1.4.2. Know how I did it? I generated a world without structures. I'm guessing that structures were originally off, and later...

How to handle/automate efficient breeder reactors?

So I've seen some breeder reactor designs on the Industrial Craft forums that can breed something like 80+ deplete isotope cells over the life of a single uranium cell. Only problem is that in order to breed that many depleted isotope cells, you have to keep switching them out when they charge...

    Battery with LED power strip

Why is your text dark grey? Dark grey on a dark grey background isn't readable. Some of us use the darker themed version of this forum. If you made this change, I'd suggest changing it back.

Mindcrack - Industrial Centrifuge no longer processes Bauxite

If you want clay, Write a flat, mountain ridge Age. Grab the red rock, turn it into clay. I have pretty much a limitless supply of lithium and silicon. I have a little setup with a pump that fills buckets in a chest with two autocrafting tables, one turning red cobble into clay, the other...

Am I supposed to be getting dust when I grind my gem ores?

I just want the GregTech toys without the GregTech "(un)balance". Is that so much to ask?

Can the intrusiveness of GregTech be reigned in?

I like *some* of the changes, but not *all* of the changes, and having to undo every single change he makes is frustrating. Feel free to link me to a mod that adds the GregTech computer, fusion, thorium and plutonium, the centrifuge, etc, without all of his screwing around with other people's...

    Technic Team releases Tekkit Lite

Seems as though if this is true, FTB has full permissions to use the LP fork. I'm asking in the LP forums (where the fork's author has been seen from time to time) so we can have a linkable response on a webpage to point to.
