You can also use Alumite in the High Oven, but it isn't as effective as Charcoal. I end up viewing Lava and Charcoal as crafting ingredients, and only making them for recipes I can't make any other way.

Is available in every pack, same with infinite free charcoal. Both fuels are boring and should be avoided for maximum enjoyment, IMO.

This reads to me like GregTech is going the way of Better Then Wolves and TerraFirmaCraft. That is, a Minecraft Total Conversion. It might not be as intentionally incompatible as BTW, but entirely replacing Vanilla ore gen as the default option certainly won't make it easier to be compatible...

Agreed. It's the internet. Someone here hates everything. If they told everyone the next round of modpacks would be exactly the same with the same collection of mods plus one or two new ones, they'd get hate for not being innovative enough.
