Fair enough. I like some of his textures; I love the magic circles, the inlays, etc. I think some of them definitely could use a hand; witchwood comes to mind there. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

Has anyone been able to get a hold of Mithion lately? Honest question, fyi. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

Are you giving them enough time to ripen? Try hitting a leaf block with bonemeal and then harvest, as that should set them to fully ripe on that block. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

Not necessarily, although it's probably the easiest way once you're at the point you need that much heat. I missed that he wanted 1000c though, so my bad there. Still, set it up in the nether, friction unnecessary. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

Yeah, it's difficult. For the blast furnace, light a fire under it AND put fire next to it. For the fermenter, you may need to change biomes or use an actual powered heater so you can set the temperature. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

Where you put them makes a difference too; friction heaters are at their best in the nether where they start at 300c (how in the world does anyone survive the nether at that temperature?) Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

Most people here know I have a thing about watching videos, but the ones I have seen, almost everyone uses Sphax. If we're being honest, it annoys the piss out of me. I cannot politely express my distaste for Sphax. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

That's the truth. First time I installed a texture pack on Tekkit was a nightmare; couldn't figure out which machine was which. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

I don't either, but I have done in the distant past. I tried a bunch out somewhere between vanilla 0.6-0.8. An awful lot of them fell under the "random crap" umbrella, lol. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

I dunno about that; maybe the major ones are, but there are plenty of packs out there that are pretty much "I made a bunch of textures I like" - they just aren't, generally, five-star material. Many of them are default res. That aside, look at those textures. They're totally themed...

I think although a few might argue that it's a matter of taste, most mods with bad textures know well that they have bad textures; for the most part, programmers are not artists. I may have some debate with his sense of aesthetics, or know others who would, but is that really any different from...

I did, actually, just to see what would happen; it says right in the book that they're not really meant for that, but I was curious. It took the top block and that was it. When placed on an oil pool beside a geyser, it'll drain as much of the pool as is in range, but again won't touch any of...

This too is a point ;) They do tend to interfere with each other a little, and forget it for oil geysers but it's a good point all the same. Incidentally, some experimentation demonstrates that while a Rotarycraft pump has far inferior range, increased setup complexity and some odd rules (it...

Nah, I'm just that impatient =P To wit, each one gets an exclusive power supply (tesseract to redstone conduit to pump) and outputs directly to an ender tank which drains far faster than it can be filled. The issue mostly has to do with my being paranoid about chunkloading in Mystcraft ages...

I'll give it a shot then and see how I feel about it, thanks. My biggest concern at this point is speed. BC pumps really don't do it for me since I started using ExtraCells. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

Draining fluids in Mystcraft ages. So some combination of puddle, lake and ocean pumping, with an option on oil geysers. For the oceans I've tried a quarryplus attached to a pumpplus, but I'm pretty sure it bugged and started spontaneously generating lava; my math suggests that, at the time I...
