    March News

Can you elaborate? What are you concerns? e: I must say that from what little I have seen so far it looks like the EFab is a great idea. Combining upgradeable crafting with power requirements and fluid support seems like a natural step to take. Looking forward to see more of the progression curve.

That is taken from the Pyramid pack. So FTB is working on an "Expert+" mode. I wonder what that is. And if Continuum might have it too.

    March News

Is it known what "Expert+" mode will be? Will we see a "plus" mode in Continuum?

This is where it all began. Fantastic to see such a "quintessentially FTB" experience make a return. Looking forward to this one! e: Will there be an official discussion thread for the pack?

    February News

And this is why you do not let yourself be bullied into communicating information you have no intention/means of adhering to. False information is worse than none. I said it a million times in as many threads: Go back to "No ETAs, period".

Survey - Future Quest Based Modpacks

I agree entirely. Recipe changes require to automate more interesting processing machinery than you usually would. Take the AA Infusion (is that what it is even called?) for example. In a normal game you can make a stack or two of that stuff and you will never craft more AA machinery than that...

Survey - Future Quest Based Modpacks

This is obviously a rather lengthy post. If you can not be bothered with in depth rationale you may want to abstain. In order to show where I am coming from with this I’ll go on a bit of a tangent so please bear with me. I have to state that I do not play non-gated packs anymore. For us, me...

    December News

I am not sure if you are misunderstanding me. We have not had a 1st party FTB expert mode in over 2 years. I can't say how long they have been talking about being actively at work on a new one but that is how long it has been since their most successful release to date. I would honestly not mind...

    December News

IIrc v2.0 of FTB Infinity was labeled Evolved and had expert mode. That is listed as uploaded Oct 30 2015. That is considerably more than 2 years now. They said they would do an expert mode for 1.10, were actively working on it in fact. The mistake was made to assume moving it to 1.11 would be...

    December News

Since nothing they announced or hinted at ever came to fruition maybe saying less would have been more. Infinity 2.0 (Expert) came out Oct 2015. It would seem that only talking about a sequel to, what many of us consider to be, the best FTB pack to date and not delivering in over 2 years is not...

    December News

You are correct. I should have said "in their final form" or "across multiple patches". With the significant amount of mods included and changes made it is not reasonable to assume everything works fine in the release version. The two examples I mentioned were deemed acceptable and final though...

    December News

Making packs is what FTB does. Trying to give feedback on how they do it is not out of turn. Microsoft does not tell people to make their own OS when someone has an idea on how to do things differently. Also I would like to point out that most people who are not happy about the announcement seem...

    December News

I fail to see anyone being "beat around the head". If you make an announcement be ready to be held to it, that is the point of making one in the first place. All things considered I think all participants in this discussion have been/are very civil when compared to any other online community...

    December News

You seem to get hung up on the phrasing I used and are not discussing the topic of the conversation. This is known as the informal fallacy "ignoratio elenchi". For the sake of argument and to keep things moving along simply assume/pretend I never used the word "promise" but something else, e.g...

    December News

Oh, absolutely. I am merely trying to suggest that the "bad" is announcing something that you can adhere to, even if it isn't popular. Because the "worse" is making a statement that you have to go back on. AoE and ATMR:E show that it was possible to make very enjoyable 1.10 expert packs. They...

    December News

There is no point in splitting hairs. They may not have used the word "promise" but an announcement is an annouccement. Why make one at all if you do not wish for people to pay attention to it or if you have no idea if you can fulfill it? It might not bother you but some it obviously does...

    December News

Undiscerning comments such as this are detrimental to any community effort. No one has taken any cheap shots. No one is asking volunteer staff not to spend the holidays with their families. Quite the opposite; everyone taking the time to come to the FTB forums for news and taking more time to...

    December News

I am always pro delaying release in favor of quality. Most, if not nearly all, of us are; there is no argument to be had here. I wish FTB would go back to their "no ETA" policy tho. Let us not forget that they announced/hinted at an expert mode pack multiple times, over months. They even said...

    FTB Beyond Release

I can understand where you are coming from, but as pointed out previously a lack of mods is hardly FTB's fault. You need to consider that on the one hand, they do want to obviously manage their brand properly and that they want to provide what people have to come to expect. On the other hand...

    FTB Beyond Release

This is incredibly exciting news. Infinity Expert has revolutionized how I think about modded Minecraft and nothing else will do anymore (apart from properly self-contained experiences like TFC or things like ME4). Lack of balance and forced progression is, in fact, the main reason I have...
