You could try roofing the field with ExU dark glass, with downgraded mfr planters placing single shrooms spaced well away from each other, and Reika's diamond block breakers harvesting the area around the seed mushrooms periodically. Still gonna be slow though.

I don't think so. And even if they do, it's heinously slow and will not fill a region. If you want to farm mushrooms in daylight, mycelium + bonemeal for giant shrooms is likely to be your best option.

Yes and no. This is good advice, but it can be a bit limiting for really large builds. IRL, most things are built on fairly flat ground, or at least have the foundation excavated, which is one reason most cities are built in valleys or on plains. Minecraft plains are more like gently rolling...

These. These should be the same thing. A late game multi-block the size of a lvl 5 blood altar that requires stone/materials from each planet that slowly spins with the planets. If you feed it craploads of power/mana/steam it can slow or speed up the orbits of the real stars.
