Can anybody craft trodden dirt? It's on NEI but the recipe has dirt with itemid 3:1 but there's only dirt (3), unless there's a way to make dirt (3:1).

Farm the mandrakes during the night. Or make those earmuffs if you want to kill those buggers at daytime.

BC pipes is complicated once you arrive with the gates stage but rewarding in a way that it can be fully automated without stuff clogging up the pipes.

Engines will only attach to a wooden / emerald buildcraft pipes. If it's creosote, you'd need a wooden water-proof pipe and an engine should attach automatically, then a cobble water-proof pipe attached to any fluid tank would do the trick.

What are you trying to connect the engine to?
