you can still add modifiers on the shovel like vanilla tinker's, just make a silky jewel and use a diamond and gold block for the modifier, yeah you cant remove the levelled up modifiers (I hate fire aspect)

You should be able to mine nether saltpeter(nether ores mod) in (you guessed it) the nether. If you don't make them into ash blocks you can turn the ashes into coal

I've managed to save my game =) I had to remove cells in my backpack until there were 63 cells left so I had to delete 4 cells, I lost a heap of important materials but nothing unreplaceable thanks for the help by the way and thanks for the tip with storing cells in cells =)

I've had these issues as well and I've found that the Ender IO magnet causes this problem, try turning it off if your using it.
