I've seen a few good clones, or at least clones that have potential. The problem is, since they have little to no support and they're generally free, there's no community, few contributors, which causes little to no motivation amongst the developers.

Ftfy. Imo, the only thing stopping a Minecraft-clone is the name "Minecraft" and the people who would stick to the original because they already paid for it.

I'm sorry ladies and gentlemen, but this whole mod will now be put on hold because of @Succubism gave me some really cool ideas. So for the next eternity or so I'll be completely reworking the mod. (Blame @Succubism some more for doing this to me).

Well the thing is, most versions from 1.2.5 made something easier. 1.3 removed separation from client/server mods and made one universal mod. 1.4->1.6 was easy. 1.7 wasn't bad, but it removed ids so it was worth it. 1.8 changes rendering into something awful and annoying to deal with, but...

Weird people. I'd just wait for 1.9 in a couple weeks and see if that has anything worth while. 1.8 is literally useless and takes more work to update than it gives back.

It was unbalanced as Dartcraft was when it started, but man was it fun.

It's a bit hard to differentiate between white and silver whith pixels, so I went with white/goldish.
