Is anyone using Steve's Carts 2 for automatic mining?

Steve's Carts 2. You see a ton of people using the farming and treefarming carts, and they work really well. But I'm curious if anyone has actually managed to work out how to make the mining carts profitable? Because they seem very expensive and require iron resources just to move forward. And...

    Dumb Modular Powersuit Tricks

There is an upcoming heat mechanic. But are you aware that there are equivalent mechanics for the gravity suit? There are solar array helmets now on. They just give you entirely tolerable nausea.

Well with practice you can move forward. Your total acceleration is fixed with this model (unlike with the jetpack which basically gives you powered jumps with no floor point), so right now you don't have enough acceleration to hold against gravity and fly forward. THe flight videos I posted use...

In your next Direwolf20 build, will you bother with IC2?

Actually, the nanosaber hasn't entered this conversation. Having taken down ol' W 4 times tonight, I'm pretty sure nothing does it as reliably and as quickly as that weapon.

Such as? All I saw was an increase in thrust cost, which seemed to be a re-affirmation that max speed was reserved for people who could manufacture multiple T3 capacitors and several control circuits. In IC2, this is just "post-automatic-mining." In Gregtech recipes, that is like "A really big...

    Dumb Modular Powersuit Tricks

I'm confused why having a technology curve with sharply increasing costs would be a balance concern. The entire point of the energy-based systems is to end up with something like a gravity suit. And having built one in a real game, I can assure you my entire group was yelling at me about iron...

In your next Direwolf20 build, will you bother with IC2?

Long, long ago I made a helium neon laser fire from mechanical effort. It was part of a science project in high school to demonstrate electromagnetic effects WITH LAZORS.

    It's... erhem... over 9000. It's about 14.5k.

This is not the case, I'm happy to report. This is actually a partial implementation. But as it stands I think it's actually a fairly good balance point on its own; no one piece of armor should be better in every situation.

I listed what it is uniquely good at. Irreplaceably so. Other people have pointed out the Q-suit status lock, mining laser, and crops are similarly in that category or not. If this could have been worded slightly better, then I am sorry I did not word it so. I've explicitly stated my positive...

In your next Direwolf20 build, will you bother with IC2?

Individual machines can be faster, but ore processing systems handing things in bulk? You set a processing rate and barring startup costs you can build off any tech base to meet that need. I keep a super over clocked set of machines too, they're just demonstrably not necessary to make an ore...

    Dumb Modular Powersuit Tricks

Just a note: the jetpack does not disable the sprint assist feature and in fact sprinting before flying makes your flight a bit faster. You get faster still by ALSO using the jump assist. And I am not sure my current armor is "cheaper" than quantum. I'm considering setting up a FZ pipeline...

In your next Direwolf20 build, will you bother with IC2?

I actually agree. I have a HUGE IC2 room that's just used for making UU matter and diamonds and was my q-suit workshop. My actual multi-quarry ore processor is 4 pulverizers, an infernal furnace, a few filters and sorting machines, and one outlet that leads to a recycler farm. Still, I gave my...

In your next Direwolf20 build, will you bother with IC2?

All I'm saying is that IC2 is definitely less integrated into the DW20 pack than other packs maintained. Most every other mod works with a unified power system and has superior automation mechanics. Even barring the question why this matters, it's not true. I wish you'd stop putting words in...

In your next Direwolf20 build, will you bother with IC2?

I get the ease of use part, but TE machines are just flat out easier to automate. It's not really a matter of opinion. Flexibility on which sides you connect to (and not requiring item extraction energy) mean they remove the annoying and typically fiddly part of automation. It's not really...

I just want to stop excess saplings and wood from spilling on the ground.

Maybe I missed it, how did you achieve this aspect of your system? Could you go into more detail? I've been trying to figure out a way to ask my Steve's Carts tree farm to just relax when the biogas tank is full. Steve's Carts is not a mod I am very good with yet.

In your next Direwolf20 build, will you bother with IC2?

I... I don't know why people think this. You can make anything in thaumcraft, at any stage, without significant risk of wisps. And wisps? Most are just benign balls of light that despawn. And once you learn to make alembics, you need never release excess aspects into the environment if you don't...

You need to get the infinite sun without those decay effects though. It can be challenging.

Props if you can build that stable age now. It used to be easy.
