FTB Infinity 1.7.10 Help, Venting and Discussion Thread

AM2, maybe if it's stable, but it's heavy on world gen, and there's already a lot of magic in Infinity! I don't think EE is right for a KSP. I also don't think it should be added to an existing pack, as it would radically change the balance of servers that already have an economy.

I'm using two wands, one to do the trade and one to do the bottle. I did just get it to work in a creative world, so I know now that it is possible. Just need to keep trying I guess!

Even so, if I wand it BEFORE any glass breaks, it doesn't work. I can't find any taint anywhere in my world, is there a way to make taint from nothing? When I hover over Vitium in the Aspects section, no items pop up at all.

I'm trying to bottle up a Hungry Node using Equal Trade to replace obsidian with glass, but it's not working. Even if I whack the glass with the wand before any glass breaks, it doesn't jar up the node. Has this been made impossible? The wand has plenty of vis, and it worked on a normal node.

Load up your save in Unmined and look for the library. You need to have visited and generated the area though, but I had flight before I went to The End so that wasn't hard for me, and a single Eye of Ender got me going in the right direction.

What cool little thing have you discovered today?

The one that clears every third layer mining ores from above and below? Don't do it anywhere near your base, or you will get rendering lag due to all the occluded surfaces. I believe this is supposed to be fixed in 1.8, though.

    Open 1.4.1: Steve's Factory Manager [1.5.0]

I just updated to 1.5.1 and this doesn't seem to be happening, although there's nothing in the changelog to indicate that anything related to SFM has changed. I did have to change a fluid condition back to Liquid XP, it had been changed to some kind of molten redstone.

Ok, thanks, but they're still pretty slow, there's a delay between each block for some reason. I was just about to post how the glass method was quicker, but I forgot to turn on my magnet and wasted a load of time looking for the dropped glass, oops.

Precision Shears are no quicker than punching the cloud with an empty hand, unless I'm somehow using them wrong.

What cool little thing have you discovered today?

Doesn't work with the Resonant Exchanger, sadly. Why is it an exploit? *Edit* Ooh, I found a dupe! I went up to the clouds with 64 glass to do this with, and came down with 65! Not sure exactly what the cause was, probably was I broke some glass while the replacement was still happening.

What cool little thing have you discovered today?

I discovered today a quick method to harvest clouds: use a Resonant Exchanger or Wand of Equal Trade to replace the clouds with glass, then smash the glass with a silk touch hammer or pick. Make sure you have some kind of item magnet. Why did I want lots of cloud? To feed Aer to my Hungry Node.

Has anyone noticed lag caused by boosting a node with 8 other nodes at the corners of a 9x9? It's the only thing I can think of that was causing it, I have reverted to a back-up before I set up the nodes at the corners and the huge unplayable lag has gone away. There are a couple of other things...

    Open 1.4.1: Steve's Factory Manager [1.5.0]

I am also having the same problem, and one of my managers has gone crazy spewing XP orbs all over the landscape - this happened once before when the definition of a fluid changed so it was not looking for Liquid XP in the tank any more, it was looking for another fluid, so it looks like they are...

That's weird. I put a storage bus on a chest, and it immediately started putting sugar cane in it, so I set it to read only.

Is there a point at which feeding hungry nodes effectively grinds to a halt? The total aspect count is well over 2000 now, and it's taking a long, long time to boost the Ignis aspect over 240.

I think I know what you mean - it throws junk in the chest even if you have it on low priority, and have the same item in another location? I only use storage buses in "read only" mode.

Lets See Some Bases! Give Us a Tour!

I expand it as I need more interfaces. I just added another 4 on the top row. You may notice that I said "reasonably capable", as I knew if I said it was big, someone would come along playing Topper. ;)

Lets See Some Bases! Give Us a Tour!

Anyone want to see a reasonably capable AE2 autocrafting setup? Clearly I need to expand it, as the molecular assemblers only have one slot free.

What cool little thing have you discovered today?

Nodes in the Twilight Forest appear to spawn identically to the overworld. I have a hungry node at exactly the same co-ordinates in each, although the aspects are different in a couple of other nearby nodes. So if you find one hungry node, you have found two. Not sure if the same applies to...

I wasn't making a recommendation, just commenting on the difference in play styles with an example. Clearly a "kitchen sink pack with default configs" is not what you're looking for. Jaded's new Magic Farm pack might be appropriate, although she tend to go for "this will all kill you"-hard...
