Remember to remove all Cursed Earth

Can someone explain to me why any of these outcomes are not insanely awesome?

    Pack Making Tools

We use Minetweaker to resolve recipe conflicts when mod authors do not (or refuse to) resolve them themselves. There are VERY few cases where we don't use it that way.

    Pack Making Tools

We use MineTweaker and a custom opensource mod called RRUtils for recipe and item removal and revision. NEI is of course essential! We use NEI dumps and the unix diff tool (or visualizers thereof using git, the Intellij git support does a good job with NEI dumps. When I do pack work, I make...

Nuclear power and advanced tech. The good, the bad, and the mentally unstable (aka the USSR).

It's not Greenpeace that is your omnipresent boogeyman. Most folks are plenty scared of science even if you don't give them firebrands.

    What's the point of RotaryCraft?

I guess I gotta do it in my series. Honestly to me the fun is in finding novel builds. Double fun if no one else has done it. Yeah, automation for automation's sake is actually sorta boring. I like stuff like WayofTime's mining spells in Blood Magic because I still get to walk around mining...

    What's the point of RotaryCraft?

Real Ultimate Power comes from turning hungry thaumcraft nodes into RF. And I mean, congratulations. You sunk time and energy into a numerical infinity slightly greater than your previous numerical infinity. While this can be fun, it seems weird to put this machismo around it. "Yeah! You...

Nuclear power and advanced tech. The good, the bad, and the mentally unstable (aka the USSR).

"Organic" food is another great example of the GMO/Nuclear effect, in that "organic" fertilizers are simply unrefined variants of existing industrial fertilizers. The net result is a higher impact to the environment because the actual problem is the quantity of food being grown, not the process...

Nuclear power and advanced tech. The good, the bad, and the mentally unstable (aka the USSR).

In the case of "clean" we mean "relative to every other energy positive process we are aware of." And in this specific case, "It mimics the process by which our own biology was given material to form." Hell, the ideal process's output is Helium, something the world is critically short on and...

Nuclear power and advanced tech. The good, the bad, and the mentally unstable (aka the USSR).

Actually energy positive with modern physics and engineering: empty box. Maybe someday. Open research. The irony of America's effective ban on new, modern nuclear power plants is that it makes everyone less safe. Modern nuclear power plants are safer, physically cannot go critical w/out the...

    Feed the Beast vs Tekkit?

I'll own this. It's weird not to include this.

    Feed the Beast vs Tekkit?

The way we look at it is more about exploring the mod space. We can make mistakes and take chances in RR. You will see that with the integration of ICBM and Resonant Induction, it makes the pack a bit weird but it's definitely neat to try. YCP has to be more stable. The audience is just not as...

I did qualify it with the magic bit.

    Feed the Beast vs Tekkit?

While I appreciate that you find my stance on IC2 frustrating, I really wish you wouldn't resort to name calling. This is far from propaganda. Were it propaganda, I'd bring in other social issues. I have and will not in this thread. And I assume you weren't calling the Witchery stuff...

    Feed the Beast vs Tekkit?

The biggest weakness of Dire's pack is that it has IC2. It doesn't fit with the rest of the pack at all, and is mostly there because Dire's always had IC2. By the way, Witchery is every bit a classic now. It's a staple magic mod, comparable direcly to Thaumcraft in terms of size and...

    Feed the Beast vs Tekkit?

*coughing and clearing his throat in a very fake fashion until he passes out* Fun & relatively new fact btw. Check it out, ATLauncher now reports how many players a pack has at this very instant (assuming those players are not offline, of course). http://www.atlauncher.com/packs/public/

    Mod Discovery

For sure, open block tanks hit your framerate and can spam a lot of data to clients if they're going up and down a lot. Rendering fluid levels is expensive for everyone, which is why XU not doing it makes them such a win. But that data I made was old enough that it should be discarded. Things...

    Sigh... Stagnation

I obviously wouldn't put it that way. ;) I'd say it more like this: Look, all of us here are like the 1% of minecraft. We've put probably too much time into it. Most people haven't done that, and we shouldn't treat them like they're bad at games or life just because they haven't paid attention...

    Sigh... Stagnation

A real danger. It's something we're trying to counter-act in Resonant Rise with HQM. Just getting people to build a few things often triggers a torrent of activity and experimentation.

    I added galactricraft to monster

It's the kinda stuff that got me a >66% likes to post ratio with thousands of posts. For sure. But also because Galacticraft was sort of a pain to integrate for our project too. I stopped aiming for forum status improvements the day a staff member told me to take my ball and leave.

Allow me to summarize my feelings with this humble image:
