Just keep a backup of the world and see what happens, I am running 1.2.7 as well but once 1.3.1 is out of beta and available I am upgrading to that as I generally do and have used the same world since 1.1.6.

Hmmm, I AM using the tool forge with a fully repaired tool and the tool has one free modifier...? This tool IS the one I've had since like 1.1.6 or somewhen though and it is the obsidian head but the obsidian head was nerfed to bronze to match the bronze head change to the quest reward...

The hydroangeas and all flowers that give free mana for nothing die off, because they give free mana for nothing. I keep mine up to date. But I have been playing for a while so the older videos are not up to date.

To use the other map download the pack in version 1.2.5 or somewhere below and then update it.

Delete everything, redownload it, load it at like version 1.2.6, then update to the current map. The Yogscast recorded using this modpack like last year or somewhen and this pack has updated a lot since then but the above will give you the same map.
