Is there any particular reason why this new 1.6 pack seems to be so much more CPU-intensive than previous modpacks?

The `/~ key binds to "none" IIRC.

It creates the extra "versions", "assets", and "libraries" folders regardless of where it runs from.

Why are all of these unrelated issues lumped into a single thread with no explanation? Could we have a little clarification, please?
