How come the current packs aren't 100% for 1.6.4? They must be, right, by definition? For example, you have Horizons are 97% for 1.6.4. Maybe because you missed Project:Red?

Those would be terrible ideas. The whole point, as I understand it, is to have a mod pack where you try something different, rather than the "same-old-same-old".

Husher from engineer's toolbox. Seems like it would be laggy, but IDK. Borer from RotaryCraft. Doesn't seem too laggy to me.

Another tactic is windmills. Totally maintenance free and decent output. I have mine rigged to a redstone timer circuit that alternately charges two coils and can optionally tap one to drive a grinder or magnetizer.

Alas, no mariculture. Also, it says here that you need one of what you are trying to convert to, so it probably wouldn't have worked anyway.

What's the deal with rubies in Horizons? There are six kinds: farlanders, magic crops, project red, emasher, rotary craft, and bop. The farlanders only want to trade with farlander rubies. I think I have project red, emasher, and bop rubies. I can convert all of them to rotary craft rubies...

How I deal with this is I find the waypoints file and then make several other links to it. For example, if the waypoints are in a file called something like 192.168.1.110 but now my server IP is 192.168.1.115, then I make files called 192.168.1.111, 192.168.1.112, etc. that are just links to...

Use redstone. You can control it just like a TE dynamo (ignore, low, or high).

Thanks for this. The AC engine has been giving me headaches lately and I could not figure out why. I second that. I have a Ph.D. in physical chemistry, and this interaction never crossed my mind. Also, my 12 year old son, or my 6 year old son, would never figure that out in a million years...

IIRC, each steam engine only produces like 2 RF/tick. 3 is like 6 RF/tick or 0.6 MJ per pick, which is not enough to do hardly anything.
