Yup, that's intended...

As long as the obsidian doesn't run out, it shouldn't be an issue. The input hopper is faster than the fluiduct. I made 10 stacks of brownstone yesterday using this method.

No need for the redstone controller. The fluiduct flowing into the basin is necessary, but for the rest, a hopper on the side of the basin putting obsidian in, and a hopper below pulling end stone out will churn through this in no time.

It doesn't seem to. I'm able to reproduce in a variety of ways, but not quite 100% of the time...yet. From the main AS thread:

Wish it were so... I had the energy cell directly next to the ME Controller without any conduit, and took screenshots showing the current charge. Using that charge value and the time between screenshots (10-30 seconds, repeated multiple times) always calculated out to a 400 RF/t energy usage...

I was able to replicate this in an even simpler setup. All it takes is a power source (dynamo or generator) feeding into a Thermal Expansion Hardened Energy Cell which then feeds into the ME Controller. It will happily chew up the full 400 RF/t that the energy cell can output. Feeding the power...

My grinder room is set up in the swamp (if you're standing in the house doorway, go about 30 blocks to the left of the initial dirt block) and I'm definitely getting slime balls out of it.
