So I am running into something similar. I added Iguana Tweaks to Infinity and the mining level of each pickaxe head is equal to the material to make it. Meaning that flint = stone, copper = copper, etc. meaning that it is impossible to mine the next material for a new pickaxe head.

So I am also having massive lag spikes with the fluxed-crystal farm manager set with largest range upgrade in it. In fact I cannot use any gui and not have to use a backup from before I did all of that in order to make the game playable. Edit: Sorry I forgot to add I switched to 1.0.3 though...
