I left a few of the default structures on like the ruined castles and walls but there are a lot of custom ones loading, especially the big redwood trees and glowing mushrooms. The bigger custom ruins aren't as common, especially the obsidian spire.

New chunks are being populated with tweaked ore spawning, biome changes and structures from recurrent complex so they may be a bit laggy. At least there are no squid which makes the ocean a lot less laggy.

It seems like less people are covering minecraft in general these days. Some of the youtubers I watched play modded minecraft in the past are moving on to new games. I was hoping something like this contest was going to bring people back but its still early days so we'll have to wait and see.

I really enjoy HQM packs and even though there are some hiccups I had a lot of fun writing quests and making reward bag loot. I spent hours just making lots of silly and fun rewards.

Tinkering and Musing

I had an early quest to craft a wooden hoe and was unaware the recipe had been removed by hunger overhaul also the crop growth nerf it adds is brutal. The poor testers might starve to death waiting for those crops to grow even with a watering can. Thaumic expansion's analyzer also kept turning...

There were a few broken quests in the one I submitted and some annoying hunger overhaul restrictions that I only caught the next day. I apologize in advance to the people having to play that version. :(

Well this has certainly been a good learning experience. Managed to submit my pack last night with a couple hours left then had to sleep. Good luck to everyone participating. Hopefully some of my favorite youtubers will generate some fresh new content from the packs created by the contestants.

I PM'd Ivorius the creator of the recurrent complex mod and I was told the mod can indeed be used in modpacks as long as its linked back to the original mod page/author. I apparently missed this information in my haste to find mods. Just for anyone who might still be wondering.
