    Updates are flying fast and furious around here... rather like some bees. XD I haven't even really gotten a chance to test the previous update before this new one, but I'm pleased to see it! I should have some time this weekend potentially to try things out.

    It seemed like they didn't like the environment. I didn't try very hard with tropical, but I was trying to crossbreed modest, and even with a cactus growing diagonal, they wouldn't grow. I think I need some sort of environment upgrade, but I haven't dug into it that far yet.

    I've had a good deal of trouble sorting out how to get things like the modest and tropical bees to do anything for me, because of the hostile environment... But I'm still pretty new to bees, so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

    If you're going to disable the sieve, then getting the diamonds for labware will be very difficult for early game, which makes the mutatron completely useless... Diamond bees kinda seem a bit more end-game to me.

    And if you are capable of crafting the automatic upgrades, you can do that to get plenty of materials. :D I won't be able to play much this morning, but I'll probably tackle it pretty solidly tonight.

    Yeah, the removal makes a lot of sense to me. And what you said about removing the invar also makes sense, because even though I like the auto sieve, it does run counter to your idea, and once you get your first resource bees, you won't have to sit there running the sieve all the time.

    Wow... that whole nugget thing was a major pain! I'm sorry. But it sounds like you've sorted it, which is great. I plan to start up a new world, rather than continuing on with my current one, and see how I do if I'm strict with myself about the nuggets thing prior to gameplay.

    What about maybe changing the recipe for the upgrades that use nuggets into upgrades that use ingots? Best of both worlds there, because you can't be lazy about getting any bees, but you're not going to be getting nuggets for a while anyway, so there's no point in worrying about whether...

    I wanted the automation upgrades so that I could have my bees going while I'm doing other things, while utilizing the ideas behind the gendustry machines. I don't think you need to simplify everything. I was just pointing out that by removing the ingot to nugget recipe, you're tying our hands...

    That's very reasonable. Mostly, I found myself wanting more automation upgrades earlier, and made several myself using the materials from the sieve. That's what made me suggest it. I wasn't so much concerned with the other upgrades for quicker mutations.

    One thing I've noticed as I continue to play the pack is that I'm not inclined to try getting the mineral bees through mutation. In my first playthrough, I found it much easier to craft an automatic sieve and igneous extruder, and then sieve tons of gravel to get enough metal for the nuggets...
