    Problem Change Port

It should be a configuration option in the server.properties file. (See the Minecraft Wiki article about it)

SkyBlock modpack without ex nihilo and (modern skyblock series)

I stumbled across Slime Skies the other day. It doesn't have Ex Nihilo or Sky Resources (the mod that Modern Skyblock uses). Haven't played it yet but it looks interesting.

    Open Missing recipe

It's a known issue. You can fix it temporarily by creating a .zs file in the modpack's scripts directory with this crafttweaker code: recipes.addShapeless("SilentUpgradeBaseFix", <silentgems:craftingmaterial:12>, [<minecraft:flint>, <minecraft:flint>, <ore:stickWood>, <ore:plankWood>]); EDIT...

    Overated/Problematic/Misused Mods

I'm not a fan of BoP either. While a lot (but definitely not all) of its biomes are pretty, almost all of them suck for actually building in. I used to use Highlands in 1.6.4. Not sure if the 1.7 version is any good though as I haven't tried it yet.

What mods do you feel have been ignored?

Assuming you like GregTech of course.

What mods do you feel have been ignored?

I have to agree with the mention of Mekanism. Dire's spotlight is nearly two years old, but it's still the top result if you search for a Mekanism spotlight on YouTube, so most people never look beyond that to see how much it's changed and improved since then. And I find it odd that, while...

    Overated/Problematic/Misused Mods

Yeah, the only benefit might be that the lower-tier ducts will be cheaper in the early game before you have a stable source of Ender Pearls for Item Conduits.

    Overated/Problematic/Misused Mods

I use Project Red without the Exploration or Transportation modules installed, so for me it does one thing (redstone logic) and does it really well. It's still ahead of Bluepower in that particular area. I have no doubt that Bluepower will eventually catch up, but for now Project Red is the more...

    Molten Emerald

Agreed. I was just pointing out the reason why the gem cast wasn't mentioned earlier in the thread.

    Molten Emerald

It was only recently added. This discussion took place way back in September.

What does YOUR Power Room look like?

My current (somewhat pitiful) power system. Two Mekanism Hydrogen Generators powered by two Electrolytic Converters being fed by a TE3 Aqueous Accumulator. It's not that big yet and it doesn't generate massive amounts of energy, but it's enough to power my entire ore processing setup (seven...

    Poll: Do you like GregTech?

The rest of your post is fairly subjective as well. As is this thread in general. Everything from the definition of "grind" to whether it's worth waiting for something if it's not worth waiting for something else to the extent to which a mod should change vanilla Minecraft mechanics is all...

    Poll: Do you like GregTech?

That is a VERY subjective point of view. First of all, people who like GregTech often seem like people who prefer the destination, and being able to brag that they "beat the game" with GregTech installed. And I, personally, love the journey far more than the endgame. But I never ever play with...

    Thaumcraft 4...I don't get it

Best way to do it is probably to turn on the runes, note where they are, then turn them off and move them to the right positions before turning them back on. That way you'll only use up three points of each aspect you use.

    Show off your computer/laptop setup

Hence why I said that choosing and buying your components is the hardest part. Picking the right parts based on size, compatibility, performance requirements, cost, etc. But once you've got that done and you have all of the parts, as long as you didn't make a mistake when planning the build or...
