    Part of the reason Minecraft and Modded Minecraft are so cool is because they have something other than "striving for the next tool upgrade" or whatever. Building infrastructure and stuff is where the coolness should lie

    On the other hand, you do need some kind of reward for setting things up properly. I tried story and unique mechanics - everyone else just goes for better tools and machines

    In the end there's nothing wrong with that, but think and make sure that what you're grinding for is really worth it to you. Don't throw away your time

    you shouldn't have to get every kind of bee for a pack or several stacks of cobble - those are lame goals. simply reaching the point of being able to breed special bees or having the ability to automate cobble is enough.

    don't force your user through meaningless objectives. you have the ability, through quests, minetweaker, and the progression mod to create gates for your users.

    give them a sense of progression. the progression is what people enjoy, not the grind. people grind for cobble not to have cobble but to build a castle. you get the idea.

    but tfox told me that i'd get every few rounds of curse points they got from the FTB packs. i never saw any of that.

    and yeah, no proof, but it does seem really horrible, right? like curse points are actual money.

    Did you know that FTB gets Curse points when their packs are downloaded from the Curse App?

    I was supposed to get a round of the points split between me and Snowshock after Infinity was released, as tfox and slow didn't need it because they worked for Curse.

    It makes it interactive. The solution is different every time, and you have to think about it. That's the fun part of the game, and I feel that's what Modded Minecraft is losing sight of.

    More mods need to add challenges like that, like IC2 and Botania and Witchery do, making problems that require unique solutions. That's where the fun of the game lies, not in mindlessly duplicating resources with Thermal Expansion and Mekanism and the like.

    is something wrong with ftb on mac. because it worked yesterday but now when i press launch on ftb unleashed the screen just goes black.

    if this is the case then go ahead and tell me to stfu. But! if someone could maybe find a solution to this and implement it i think we would be all a lot happier and back to customizing amazing bases as we see fit while still enjoying the great mod

    I did not make that pack, but I believe that the mob spawning is really just part of the AoA mod. I suggest you bring it up with its author
