awesome, I was already wondering if you could automate this.
now makes me itching to try and do a build of this aswell :D

They are breakable with picks(always have been), but take a significant amount of time, as said one of the quickest/easiest ways to collect them is to break the block underneath. It's even easier with a bucket though, Just stand on top of them, look at any block except the oyster itself and right click the bucket, it'll remove the water quickly and also drop the oyster :p.

I took the idea of the automation of oysters, and tried to do a build of my own, ofcourse trying to make a build that's compact, cheap and efficient.
what I came up with is this

this build is done using the transfer nodes from Extra Utilities
there's 1 chest with a normal transfer node extracting sand as an input

the sand is then carried through pipes to the oysters
12 in total, 1 for each color with a colored pearl block beneath them

the second chest has a retrieval node, with an inverted item filter set to ignore sand

with a result of this

Does anyone manage doing the same with no mods but mariculture ?
So just chests, hoppers and oysters?
