Looking for Suggestions: Mystcraft World for Thaumcraft

I have a separate Mystcraft World for mining and I am planing to make a separate world for my magic - to keep the flux out of my village. I'm not very familiar to Mystcraft so I was hoping to get some suggestions from those in the know. I thought a barrens wasteland biome could be fun, but also a mix of magicy biomes, like the multi colored trees and what else? - could also be pretty cool. No idea what they are called ;)

Interesting sky/cloud colors would be appreciated as well.
 
You probably don't want to use barren wasteland for TC. The Aura nodes that are generated are directly related to what "Living" things are around. Biomes like forests, jungles & plains will have nodes that are much larger than any you will in Barren wastelands, deserts, ect.
 
Swamps too. I set up shop in a custom mystcraft world that was desert, swamp, plains. Had two nodes merge near my place and it was a 1200 aura node. Ripe for the taking. :) So I posted signs around it saying it was mine all mine and did my happy dance for no reason.

The best place for aura is actually mushroom biomes. Try making a purple sky maybe?
Possibly have a second biome like swamps so that you can have other mobs when you need them.
 
Alternatively, make a single-biome mushroom biome end world. Small land mass for less lag, big aura nodes, and not too much to chunk load. Personally I like always-night blue-black-black-purple sky with multiple moons and charged for a nice magicky feel.

Once Mystcraft gets to 1.5.2 I might have to try that.
