I have downloaded multiple modpacks and when i launch them all of the buttons go grey on the launcher and then it doesnt do anything. i have tried forcing update, it just makes it update over and over and it never launches. i have ran it as administrator and there was no change. i have re-downloaded everything twice. please help me because i am clueless.

Please provide us a log of console so maybe we could help.

E Upload it to pastebin, then link it here.

First of all, you've old version of Java, update it.

SEcond, do you use Optifine by any chance?

Well, if that doesn't work and force updating does nothing, then all I can say is to wait and hope it solves itself in some way. That's the same thing it says in the helpdesk on this problem :/

"If you encounter an issue with your launcher loading (your console log will just end with "mc = class net.minecraft.client.Minecraft" and your buttons grey out) please try the following:
1. Force close your Java/launcher. Let it rest for a little while, possibly shut down your computer to give it a break. This is the only known way to fix this error. (waiting) "

[18:40:52] [INFO] LaunchFrame.main:166: Java version: 1.7.0_07

Java is still not updated.

E: If you can't manage to update it properly easily, follow the steps in http://forum.feed-the-beast.com/threads/how-to-manually-remove-java-from-windows.20925/ (Credit goes to Eyamaz for the great instructions)

Thanks. Update 7 is actually the reason I wrote that...

To OP:

Please follow the first link in my signature about basic troubleshooting. If the error continues, please follow the second link about log files and upload a full console log in debug mode.

Move your launcher into a new folder c:/ftb. Run the launcher, go to options, and change the path to c:/ftb.

Restart the launcher.
