So, this morning I went to the nether to get glowstone. As I was doing so, I was lagging quite a bit, and I accidentally hit a pigman and they killed me. I waited about 20 minutes to go back in, but they were still after me. Also, I've been disconnected for a few hours and I just got back on. My stuff is still there, but the pigman are still attacking. How or can I get my stuff back, or will the eventually quit attacking?!

Sad to say the attacking will never quit for that group of piggies. Once they dislike you they are worse then trolls on twitter.
Welcome M'Lady. Wait for a bit until someone comes on and ask them to get the stuff. Or if it an admin to refund you back the gear if it despawns. Just don't go into the nether to load up the chunk so it won't despawn.
One thing you can try I have done in past if your lucky it can work, grab couple of stacks of sand or gravel & some cobble, as soon as you enter nether or near the spot with angry pigmen, nerd pole to save your life, once your 10 blocks up start dropping the sand/gravel it will kill the pigmen but not fast if you have a mid to small bunch you can kill them in time to collect your stuff, note if there using/wearing items you may not get them as drops its not 100% chance anymore, the other option with turtles but thats a bit more hit & miss.

Ohhhh idea. Use the new Xycraft crystals if you have them. Just have a safe height and place them around your pole. Pigmen kill themselves and since it is environment damage more can't get angry at you.
Pretty sure they don't hide you from mobs. :/ I mean, it's vanilla. They aren't going to make it amazing, right?
As long as you have no armour on, the mobs won't be able to find you with an invisibility potion on. As long as you don't walk into them...
That is half true, pigmen will always be angry, but just the ones in range of the first hit, and if they dispawn, nobody will be angry.
well, Vechs is the guy that makes the super hostile maps, he is quite famous, and he does videos about minecraft, like: how good are protection enchants, what food is the best, what is the flaw of zombie pigman, and in the last one, he showed that pigmen are strong and have a longer range (of 2 blocks) but they are stupid.
