My most advanced machinery is a vanilla furnace :D Unless you count TC3 crucibles and whatnot as machines, but I don't
I played the tech side a bit, so I used to have a decent setup. At least I have plenty of materials. But all my machines are useless because I disconnected their power to move into the base. Which is unfinished. Damn microblocks. I just hope I don't run out of stone and have to smelt more.

Another Zen would be exploring, but my power problem is going to end that shortly.

I also looked at my shelf and saw the book "Zen and the art of Motorcycle repair." Off to read.

I hate mining (because I hate the dark) but I find chopping down trees relaxing. I love to look at a forest one day, and then see a darker plains biome in it's spot the next day. I also keep chopping wood even if I have enough, because I don't care about how much wood I have, but rather I care about how many trees I cut down. As in, I don't care about preserving the forest, I just care about chopping it all down.

I hate chopping trees, but that's just me. Do you use a special axe or sumthin'?

Good 'ol vanilla days. Nice enchanted diamond axe. Rape an entire jungle biome till it's gone. Ahhh the wondrous memories.

No, no. I just get a stone axe with some unbalanced level of unbreaking. And I hold down my mouse button and just chop down trees.

I don't need music or some soothing tune to go by. Idk what it is, chopping trees is just relaxing for no apparent reason.

Also, I don't chop down jungle biomes. I burn them.

My ultimate goal in Minecraft is to make every biome in my world a plains biome. Jungle biome? Chop it all down and you get plains that spawns kittens :D

Circuit + battery ;)

It's also doubly good because after the EU runs out it just runs on normal durability.
Okay, I have tried adding adding those two in the Tool station, and I've tried combining these in various formations on the crafting bench, nyada. I've also looked at the thread again, and found a mention of electric modifier, but not how to do it.

Could you explain in a bit more detail please?

Item sorting has been something that I usually do manually.

Once I get my AE set up, the most annoying parts of manual item sorting are going to be phased out in favor of less annoying alternatives.

It may be 1.5 only but I'm positive in Dire's video it was just a battery and a circuit...

You need to use the Tool Station to install upgrades(or even build tools). On the 1.5.1 version you get a in game book which really helps with this shit, but in 1.4.7 you've got to either read threads of suffer a bit.
So get a tool you want to install this upgrade on, and get said circuit and battery. Open the tool station and you'll default to the repair/upgrade tab. Place the tool/wepon in the pickaxe slot and the upgrade in the other slots(in this instance, you place the circuit in the top slot and the battery in the bottom slot).
Take upgraded item out(I forget if you have to hit a button to get it to craft it) and then go charge that sucker up! Or not. Really, it's your call.

Ah. I found out. The battery must be completely empty power wise. At least in 1.4.7

Version is TConstruct_1.5.1_1.3rc.3.

I even checked the config, it doesn't offer turning any modifiers off. I even tried UE batteries and circuits.

Oh well, time to stop derailing the thread and ask Dave.

Bug in IC2, my pack needs an upgrade, mystery solved. Thanks for the patience guys! And again, sorry for the derail. Go back to your zen.

Very strange indeed. I won't be of much help since I refuse to manually update ._.

The zen for me is watching my automated systems run

I love building the automated systems because it's a challenge of how to try and make them look as nice as possible, while still keeping some level of efficiency, but when I finish them, sometimes i just zone out and watch them. Watch the diamonds roll in, or if I'm feeling cruel, watch my mobs die... >.>

That's also kinda zen for me. During my normal FTB map play, I remember automating everything, but more importantly, in my 1.5.1 world (with several new updated mods) I decided to work on potions and learn how to automate them by using CC and Buildcraft+Hoppers (which are awesome, BTW).
It is really relaxing to do it.

Mm, when our server shifts across to ultimate from mindcrack, I don't know if I'd actually like the AE systems.
Obivously they're so much more efficient and cleaner, but, they're not really much of a challenge to build them

So I may end up reverting back to automation like how I've got it going in my mindcrack world

I like to sit back, relax, and mine while listening to reggae on Jango and sometimes talking to friends or other people on the server on Skype/Mumble, whether it be branch mining, pheonix mining, strip mining, or spelunking (which I do most). Another thing I find relaxing is building extremely overcomplex machines using inefficient machines compared to other machines. Right now my over complex machine I am working on is a Quarry to GT Grinder to Packagers and Blulectric Furnaces. I find making pipe and tube networks very relaxing.

I like to build factories. Yes, to make stuff, but that's not why I make them. I make them cause I want to. Nothing optimized, no super tight space that makes it difficult for me to change something, just a big factory.
Energy, on the other hand, does not relax me. I get all crazy when getting my first energy bits up. No, I don't want to waste materials, so the first thing I'm gonna build is a HP boiler. After one Steam Engine (or sterling if I'm feeling cheap)
