People should mind that the graphs represent most efficient use of one stack of xysoil blocks and the second graph represents efficiency of 1 to 64 xysoil blocks stacked up atop one another. For some reason I feel like this was glossed over by some and just felt like reiterating.

If you don't want to stack, just use one layer of them. If you're going for speed and resources don't matter then go get a fillier and make a filled box of em. :p

I anticipate myself using stacks of 5 at a time per block of farmland. I'm too laid back to worry about much faster growth rates. :)

Another random question, anyone know if xysoil works with forestry multiblock farms, and if so, how well?

At present Xychorium Soil does not seem to work with any of the other mods. Multiblock Farms will not plant on them, and Steve's Carts 2 carts will not plant on them. The only exception to this that I know of first hand is the "Straw Golem" from Thaumcraft, which WILL replant seeds into Xychorium Soil after it harvests a plant from it. Almost all the other mods do not seem to interact with the stuff very well tho, unfortunately. It is great in -concept- but because of this limiter, I end up not using it very much.

That being said.. I haven't tested X-Soil with MFR Farms. Hmm.

I've tested it with the PowerCraft harvesters...it'll pick up the blocks, but it won't replant like it does with regular dirt. But, if what I'm reading is right, I could have...

Where s is a sapling (in this case, a jungle sapling, assuming the above represents a 2x2 planting field), d is dirt, and x is xychorium soil. With that, I'd -still- receive the increased growth rate from the soil, or no?

I may be wrong, but I doubt it affects soil. Though that would be cool, maybe we can suggest that to soaryn. I think that's pretty balanced. And it'd also make compatibility easy.

That would be pretty neat, aye. Could even balance it a bit further by depreciating the amount of growth speed increase the more dirt/grass blocks are on top of your soil blocks. Maybe...5% loss per block, or somethin?

One more test, if you would?

Toss one layer of sand (or dirt) on top and test to see if the bonus still happens to a plant planted?

(okay, two more tests)

Or a CROP frame?

I planted a field of wheat on farmland on 4 layers of XYsoil, and another field of the same size with just farmland. It seems that the plot with XYsoil is growing a tiny bit faster (!), definitely not four times faster though. But this could just be a statistical anomaly. I'll run a full 30 minute test later when I have the time for it. I planted a single wheat seed on farmland on a 60 blocks tall tower of XYsoil, and it definitely did not grow super-fast.

I have tested and it works fine for trees MFR can normally handle (I think all trees except the new Forestry ones). I think it doesn't plant anything that needs tilled soil though.

I think I've seen some mentions about XyCraft compatibility in the MFR for MC 1.5 patch notes though, but I'm not sure anymore.
