I decided to use wrath lamps for the first time, and as soon as I placed it, I ended up with all kinds of in-game stuttering. It was all I could do to knock the lamp down. As soon as the lamp was down and the lighting updated, I froze for about 5 seconds, then things got mostly back to normal. Are wrath lamps (and similar) known for causing lag due to all the invisible blocks it creates?

Any other options for lighting up a large area? It looks like xycraft torches are a bit brighter than the regular ones. I know that forestry candles are dimmer than torches. Not sure about the thaumcraft candles. Anyone know? I'll probable end up with the RP2 lights as my workshop is industrial themed. I've thought about using ic2 luminators, but they are a pain to wire up for a large area.

I'm not sure why specifically Wrath Lamps would cause a large amount of lag, but the fact that they do doesn't actually surprise me, given their nature.

As for lighting... I'm not really sure. Aluminum torches are kinda... meh. Personally, I think lighting is one of the ways FTB is sort of... meh. They did so many amazing things with so many other concepts, but none of the mod authors made anything between a wrath lamp and a torch. Or at least, not to my knowledge.

Red power 2 lamps? (Several designs)
Xycraft Zycoridite lamps?
Thermal Expansion Liquiducts (Using lava)
Industrial Craft 2 Luminators
Thaumcraft 3 Nitor

Plenty of options for lighting in FTB. ;)

I would like to see this in the next update to Ultimate. http://www.cosc.canterbury.ac.nz/greg.ewing/minecraft/mods/GregsLighting/ Why, when we have wrath lamps? Well, having an energy requirement would add a neat challenge to designing a room, and these lights can be turned horizontally to light a long hallway.

You know, that was on the original FTB announcement poster. I guess it was dumped once Factorization was included.

Whenever something doesn't work as expected I check to see if that something is in range of a Wrath Lamp. If there were Tier one support for modpacks with Factorization one of the first blocks in the flowchart would be, "Do you have a wrath lamp installed?"

I love the light and the range, I hate how many unintended interactions there appear to be with other mods.
