Would anybody be interested in helping me with a short build?

Hey guys,

I realize I'm probably going to get a lot of hate for this post but I'm gonna go for it anyway. My building skills are kinda crap. And some of the stuff I've seen on here are really good. I'm not looking for the big extravagant stuff here. Even if you're bored and just wanna do it.. But I'm starting a Youtube series kinda with tutorials but with a story along with it. Back in the day I made a Tekkit series called the Tekkit Research Lab. I basically roleplayed in a singleplayer world like I had a boss and people had me doing tasks. It got a lot of hits and I wanted to do something similar in FTB for my channel as kind of a revival to the series. This is where you guys come in. I'd love to have somebody here make a little lab. Hidden away in a mountain with like a secret lever or something to access it. But basically a big hidden building with a bunch of rooms, possibly a big room for machines and then small rooms for other things but I'm just looking for the building aspect of it. I don't really want any mod related items placed in or stuff along those lines. I hope you all take this more of a challenge than as a desperate plea for help, I just wanted to incorporate my friends on the forum into my little series and project If you have any questions, feel free to contact me on this post or privately but I appreciate anybody who can do this for me!

I repeat that it does not have to be extravagantly complicated. I just want a little hidden away base.

Can mods be used to make elements of the hidden base? I mean there are really cool things you can do with mffs and a creative battery card. You could also go super low tech with a vanilla tilled land switch at the base of a mt you designate.

I'd honestly really prefer just the use of decorative blocks if you were to use mods. For example, quarried stone. I'd prefer to put in mod stuff as my series progresses, since it will be a somewhat tutorial series.

I will be using the Direwolf 20 1.6 pack sorry I forgot to mention that. And my channel is on my profile, they don't like you posting it in messages. The Tekkit videos were a long time ago, my more recent content is much much better. Thank you!

I use YouTube as a hobby. I find it fun to make, edit, and upload videos. It allows me to play games with my friends and have it have a little more meaning. I use it as an escape at times where I can be myself. I like the response from people and I love seeing my numbers grow. I also get money but that's really not why I'm doing this.

And my computer is not good enough to run monster well so I'm kinda creating my own mod pack with Direwolf20 as the base. My computer runs it the best.

Because people (like me) watch these things, and enjoy them. It makes you feel good knowing that other people are enjoying your videos.

A lot of people use YouTube as their television. They can watch stuff about the games they play and the videos can make them laugh. In the case of what I'm trying to do, I want to create a story while making someone laugh and teach them FTB. All in all though YouTube is growing as a job on the Internet due to the amount of people watching videos per day and it's amazing to be a part of it.

I've got an idea or two, but I'm not sure exactly what you're thinking. Can you be a bit more specific? How hidden do you want? Just an invisible entrance, or something that simulates a natural cave, or even branches invisibly off from it? One massive room subdivided by interior walls? Or would you prefer distinct rooms dug into the Mountain? Biome preference? Height? I mean, I can mine out an entrance below sea level that requires you dive off a high mountain to get far enough down without dying from lack of oxygen, but if it's not what you want, there's not much point.

I would love to have a base inside of a mountain. Possibly with a pressure plate piston door? Or something along those lines. I would love a long hallway with a bunch of rooms branching off of the hallway. One big room would be nice for machines from TE and IC2 and stuff like that. Biome preference I don't mind. Extreme Hills would probably be easiest. I have BoP disabled so it'd be bad to have that loaded. Height, if you wanna make it multiple levels I guess you can but you don't need to. The storyline is basically that my old boss rented me out an abandoned laboratory for use to study our enemies. It's gonna kinda be a hidden military base. That enough?

Height really doesn't matter to me. Obviously if it's in a mountain it's gonna be above sea level. It can all be on that level or it could have multiple floors.

YouTube is basically programming for YOUR content; you pick what you want to watch with few interruptions, virtually no commercials, and almost as much content as you want. Wave of the future (future circa 2005, all futures to be held as theoretical until proven fact. Your milage may vary, don't forget to fuel the Delorean.)

"All futures are held as theoretical" I like that. Makes a complete mockery of life (in the basic sense that most ppl percieve it), but I do love that phrase. TY
