Summary of the problem world gets cut off

What is the bug? when I load the map i have my small island I built in a zone almost exactly 2x3 chunks when i exit the space all blocks and stuff vanish but particles are still there like the torches fire or water dripping but everything else is not see able and i cant build out into it or any further then the border and and it comes back if i go back into the zone as far as i know i can go up and down in the zone all the way without experiencing this but it has limited me.
