I came on and was gonna play some modded MC, but when it loaded up and I went to click on singleplayer, my world was not there. I saw it was in the saves folder and that stumped me. I have the forge log plus some screenshots. http://paste.ubuntu.com/9986191/ The pictures are there to show that the world selection screen only has 2 worlds while the saves folder has 3. (excluding the NEI folder.)

Your level.dat or level.dat_old file is most likely missing. Happens sometimes.
Either copy the missing file over from a backup(this way you loose no progress except your position and eventual items in your inventory, your player will be restored to the time of the backup while the world will not) or copy over the entire backup(everything will be restored to the time of the backup).

Ok thank you :)

In confused. I've made multiple backups and none have the regular level.dat but all of them, including this world have a level.dat old. It's not missing.

Ehm what MC version are you on? I think it have changed a bit over the years. Particularly 1.7/1.8 uses something new or stores them some place else or something.

You might be able to fix it by creating a new world with exactly the same name as the one that disappeared, so CrackPack 1_7_10 in this case. I've fixed this sort of issue this way before, although I can't say how much you'll lose.

If that doesn't work, try reloading a complete backup.

I'm running 1.7.10
I am not entirely sure then. Think it is an issue with these data, but not sure where they are stored in 1.7+. Maybe someone else can come to the rescue?
Have you tried doing a complete comparison of the backup and the present save folders? Try and see if there are the same amount of files in each.

I tried the creating a new world method. It kept my waypoints, but everything else was gone.

I think he meant that you create a new world exactly the same name etc. and then copy the old folder in over it.

Oh, ok I'll try that after I finish configing a pack I'll use if all of this fails lol
