Playing FTB Beyond. Finally managed the annoying task of hitting a bat with a mob prism, and hooked it up to my almost-fully-upgraded Woot mobtrap.

Examining the mobtrap with One Probe indicates that it "knows" the bat wing drop. However, ~1500 bat kills later I haven't gotten a single bat wing.

Has anyone been able to make this combo work? I know bats are actually dropping bat wings because I've gotten one from killing bats by hand.

What tier woot farm? From what I remember, only Tier 3+ counts as a player kill.

It's a tier 4 farm with mass 3, beheading 3, rate 3, and xp 1. I'm spending 9krf/t killing bats and getting nothing out of it, basically. :)

I know Reliquary drops will drop in a Woot farm on Beyond, but I can't say I ever bothered to use it on bats. Creepers, Endermen, Blazes, Skeletons, Zombies, and Witches, and Slime all dropped the Reliquary items as they should have.

Edit: Curious, what's the need for all the bat wings?

I don't need more than eight or nine, actually, just to get a few of Reliquary items that need them. Bats are just such an immense pain to kill by hand that I wanted to do it the lazy way. XD

And the Woot farm has definitely worked for every other mob I've tried it with as far as Reliquary drops go, even Snow Golems. It's just bats...

...

Also I just realized that Woot farm + iron golem is probably a hilariously broken way to stock up on iron... xD

I was using the woot farm to provide Redstone and Glowstone (Witches) for recharging my Tome of Alkahestry. I used it to craft all the Nether Stars I needed until my Woot Factory could provide them for me. After that, I set up auto crafting with Tomes for everything it would offer. This took way more Redstone than I expected, however, so I turned to farming Redstone, which freed my Woot Factory for spawning the Wither. Turns out that it takes way less power to spawn a single Wither than a Netherstar Generator will provide with a single star.

Another good use of a witch woot farm is using the Glowstone and Redstone to make Glowing Bread to put into Culinary generators to make loads of power. Each bread is 100K RF.

Yeah, when I realized you could make a wither trap... I honestly didn't expect the prism to work when I hit the wither with it. XD

My current setup flatlines my entire base's power in about a minute if I turn it onto wither mode, but in that time it gets me a few hundred stars. :p Being able to make nether stars at the rate of 1 per 5 ticks certainly makes the high tier EnviroTech multiblocks a lot more appealing. :)

You didn't expect it to work? In the guide, it says it requires Nether Stars because it can farm bosses. You can also farm the Ender Dragon for Free Draconium and Hearts mainly.

I didn't entirely read the guide. XD

Oh good lord you can do Dragon Hearts, also? Welp, free Dragon-tier gear here I come, I suppose... :p

Remember, you don't hit a dragon with the prism for that. You craft the prism with a dragon egg.

As for power, the Wither Woot farm uses less power then a Start Generator creates from the gathered stars.

I setup 2 generators off my woot farm to keep making withers and power my base, Game won!

Hm... Nether star generator isn't a bad idea at 40krf/t... My current power network generators about 120krf/t but it's all solar so I have to have a massive capacitance to handle nights. Wouldn't be a terrible idea to convert to running off of nether star gens for constant power, especially since I could use RS and flux points to put the actual power gen in the middle of nowhere in the nether... Having to either leave my woot farm in wither mode or build a second farm would be annoying, though.

If you're only running a single Netherstar Generator, you won't have to keep the farm tied up with Withers for too long. I don't have the exact numbers in front of me, but I believe my Tier 5 Factory with only an XP Upgrade could pump out 26 stars before the first was consumed. At that ratio, it doesn't take long to build a substantial stock, which allows you to run anything else for a good long time.

Yes, star. Sorry, was typing while chasing my 3yr old. And yes, a storage drawer with a couple emerald upgrades will fill in a surprising short time and power multiple gens for a long time giving you a free tier 5 Woot farm to play with.
