Windows .exe Windows 8 doesn't work with launcher. Do I have to use .jar?

Please help, I tried compatibility mode and nothing changed, launch button is greyed out for everything if I open launcher and try to play something.

Where can I find the files I downloaded FTB to? It says it's in E: that's it, no FTB folder, just various modpacks I tried.

That's because you installed your FTBlauncher directly on the E drive, and not in a folder.
It needs to be in a folder, otherwise, it spews everything everywhere.

Ok, I did that and it works! I guess just don't do it to a main drive and always use a folder. Thanks for the help, never would've gotten it to work otherwise.
