help increase frame-rate etc?

I'm finding no matter what pack I play, or which systems i use more predominately, my worlds just get slower and slower as my pc gets overburdened.

Sometimes I am able to figure it out, like 5 x LvL 5 mob farms operating causes FPS to drop to 18, so i just operate them for as long as i need ingredients. Will hosting it on an external server help this?

Other times though, it just seems to be a by-product of using so many mods/select mods en masse. Previously on a world I had very redpower2 heavy power generation and of course, sorting. Nowadays I am using AE for all of my storage, with both heavy BC and IC2 power gen (360 mj/t and 4096 eu/t) and still a very noticable fps drop (from 110 to 20-40 depending on how many IC2 machines are being auto fed items).

So will it help? or do I just have to deal_with_it.gif ?
I was looking at creeperhost option, they seem to have aus located servers, but normally I am deterred from server play simply due to lag, no matter how good the server is :(

Might be a small boost if its an over working processor that can't keep up with running the client and integrated server at the same time. This is rarely the case however, and the boost would be small. You may just have to deal with it.

A tactic I use is run a server on my spare laptop, and create a couple MystCraft ages. Anything that just murders my FPS is kept in the age, which is automated so I don't need to visit them often.

I always find my FPS is around 20-30 higher on servers than on SSP, so there might be some merit to it.

In general yes as the server is loading & running a lot of the game files that releases some strain from client.

I found my existing system was being heavily taxed when running SSP. I recently set up a local server to play, and was much improved in the responsiveness of my system. I was averaging 10-15fps before, and now It seems as if I am in the 20-25 range. I have a 6 year old laptop with a low end nvidia card (8200). The local server is definitely the right choice for me.

it should help yes, as a lot of calculations will be moved to the server CPU leaving your PC to basically only render everything. So if you have the internet connection and cash it might be an idea, or just upgrade your pc;)

there are also two very significant framerate improvements you can implement without the game looking like garbage. first, i have had problems with smooth lighting so i disable it (i als have been playing since before smooth lighting existed so i never liked it anyway). the other biggie is view distance normal. far tends to destroy my framerate especially when its raining, and i have an insanely fast come with a 3.4ghz i7 and radeon 6970. it is worth noting that even with this, spawner farms drop deuces all over my comp even still, so much that ive avoided using them at all.
