will forge multipart replace redpower 2

So I havent kept up on the FTB news but from my understanding redpower or redpower 2 is not going to continue as a mod, but I recently just watched a mod showcase by direwolf20 where he showcases forge multipart, it had the slabs and strips that are similar in redpower 2. So is chicken bones planing to take many things from what was redpower and make it Forge multipart? If a forge member or someone who knows exactly whats going on could get back to me that would be great!

P.S. Is xycraft going to be in FTB unleashed (1.5.x) soon? Its one of my favorite mods!

Who ever told you Redpower wasn't going to continue is just wrong. Eloraam has said nothing about not continuing. For more information on that you can refer to one of the million threads on the subject.

Forge multipart can be used as a replacement, due to it being the best microblock mod out there

Xycraft wont be for 1.5.2, its skipping it and going right to 1.6.2

I've only seen the spotlight by DW20, but it looks nice so far, and with the current lack of RP2 and its uncertain future I'm really looking forward to mods that replace or even improve on the lost functionality.

It's not just a microblock mod, it tinkers with minecraft "microblock" (buttons, torches, levers, thing of that sort), and lets them be placed in the same block in a logical way. It also functions.
So many things not possible with redpower microblocks are now possible. It even impacts vanilla quite a bit too.
