>That one is MUCH better
How? If you have any ways to improve it, please let us know on the Wiki Creation subforum.

Seriously? Compare http://wiki.feed-the-beast.com/Main_Page. To http://feed-the-beast.wikia.com/wiki/Feed_The_Beast_Wiki or http://ftbwiki.org/Feed_The_Beast_Wiki. It's not hard to notice some glaring differences.

You shouldn't have to click through several pages of just glaring text to find what you are looking for. At ether of those other pages you can go to any modpack and any mod with out ever having to leave that page. And nether use tiny text on a background that is some how blinding and hard to see at the same time. And both use graphical icons to mark important links.

First get all the mods and mod packs represented on the front page.
Fix the colors. Dark background and lighter larger text. Much easier on the eyes. Expect that people will be visiting a lot and for long periods of time.
Make some buttons for the different mods and mod packs. Including 3rd part packs and even well knows ones not on other launchers.
The creative mode menu icons should work as a decent base for them mod links.

Though frankly your best bet would be to offer http://ftbwiki.org/Feed_The_Beast_Wiki "The official FTB wiki" validation. Make it the FTB approved wiki. And work with them to make that one the go to general mod wiki.

Because frankly I always thought that this FTB's wiki was never developed beyond it's initial creation. And I bet most others thought the same. So it might be far to late to try to change now.

  1. Mods, minor mods, and modpacks are all shown at the top of every page in the form of a dropdown menu
  2. We are working on making the main page better currently. It hasn't been changed since June/July 2013.
  3. That is a fine idea :D
  4. No to the creative mode icons
  5. We offered to join forces with FTBWiki.org and they declined. They would like to not be required to follow the path of FTB if they do not agree with a change (eg. Curse changes, etc). It also wouldn't work now that they are also the ATLauncher wiki.

@NJM1564 Since Santa posted what I was working on typing, here's a link to where the unofficial wiki stated they wished to remain separate from FTB.

@SatanicSanta we do need to get the font changed up a bit though, I still can't tell the difference between links. :p

Maybe the font can be the font that is on the main FTB page.

What is the proper way to use an infobox?

Somehow, I suspect that putting

{{infobox mod
|name=Mystcraft
|author=XCompWiz
|version=0.10.13.1
|url=http://binarymage.com/forum/index.php
}}

on lots of pages is NOT the right way, and that it should be updated in some central location. So, what should I be doing instead?

{{Infobox
|name=
|iconimage=
|mod=
|type=
|lore= (if an item has a tooltip. If not, ignore)
}}

What you posted is what goes on the main Mystcraft page only.

OK, which of those are appropriate for pages such as:
age
age creation
entrapment
instability

All of which are mechanics for a mod, and not an item, block, etc?
