Why was NuclearCraft removed in FTB Revelations 2.0?

I'm going to be upfront with the fact that NuclearCraft is one of my favorite mods, I'm on the Discord, etc etc.

Now, my question is: why was it removed? No other populated 1.12 pack (either by views or available servers) includes it. Revelations actually managed to include NC, Immersive Engineering, and Immersive Petroleum (which is also criminally overlooked) in one pack that was actually vibrant and widely played. I've been excited for 2.0 because I figured that it would include Thaumcraft, and I'm very happy to see Twilight Forest, ProjectRed, and so on but... is there a place to appeal it be readded in the next version?

Yes, I know the changelog says it was some sort of server issue. I've been using it EXTENSIVELY in my Revelations 1.8.0 base and have had no problems at all, and looking through the support tickets for our server it has never been the cause of an issue for anyone else either.

I just want this pack to be the new modded 1.7.10. Everything else is already in place now. If anyone who is involved sees this, please put NuclearCraft back in the pack. :(

Hiya Hammurabi

Just FYI, I'm also a big fan of NuclearCraft. Its one of my favorite nuclear experiences, essentially tied with ReactorCraft (they both have totally different pros and cons). And its light-years ahead of Extreme/Big Reactors.

If you're on the discord, you're aware of how rapid the development has been over the last while. Even just a couple months ago it would have been a fairly bad idea to add it because so many mechanics were in flux.

So, to answer your title question: it was probably removed because it wasn't sufficiently stable.

That said, your actual post content includes a different question: (Can it be re-added?) I have no answer for that except nothing stops you from adding it yourself.

For a single-player game, sure. But for those of us who want to play online with others and aren't admining their own servers, we're bound by which packs are popular. No populated 1.12 pack has NuclearCraft now.

Yep quite right.

I'd like to see it in more packs too. Its going into the next Infitech pack fwiw (although that's a niche pack that appeals to Gregtech crowds).

I'm not sure pushing it into Revelations is a great idea at this point. The pack probably shouldn't try to house both fission mods (huge overlap) and removing a popular mod is never a great idea (even if its a bit silly compared to NC)

You mean all three? IC2 has fission reactors too. And Immersive Engineering has it's own Uranium Ore. It was all unified and perfectly cross-compatible in Rev 1.8.0, and while I personally agree that Extreme Reactors is boring and OP, I wouldn't necessarily want to see it removed either. More choice is supposed to be the point of an everything-including-the-kitchen-sink pack like Revelations.

Yeah, I can't dispute the kitchen-sink point ( I should mention that I don't actually play KS packs, so I wasn't super-mindful that it even was one).

Although I'll mention for what its worth (not much) that the overlap between IC2 fission and ER is less than between ER and NC, so content-wise there's a bit less clash there.

But, like you mentioned, it shouldn't be a big issue with KS packs either way.

Maybe to present your case better, you might consider doing a bit more research into the initial cause of removal, and whether that initial problem is appreciably solved at this point.

ATM 3 is pretty popular and has NuclearCraft, and it has an official server too. ATM tries to contain as much latest mods as possible without crashes or bugs, with proper tweaks and balancing to most of the OP stuff (like Cloches).
