Why is my refinery not refining?

From the screenshot you can see that there are 2 combustion engines attached and that the refinery has "10000RF / 10000RF" so there's power getting to it.

There's oil being pumped into the back of it - you can see the two minitanks full of oil. The front "output" tank is empty, no water in it or whatever.

There's an output pipe, though I didn't think it was required for the refinery to actually start generating fuel.

I am at a loss as to why it just sits there ... any ideas?

Good question, I have know idea.
Maybe you can try hooking up the conduit from a different side, or using Buildcraft's kinesis pipes instead.

Ah, it may be that the pool of black liquid I just pumped dry into a Railcraft Iron Tank may in fact be sludge ... and not oil. Bugger.

I belive you need a leave to turn on your combustion engines.

you can even create recipes for the refinery (like how UU liquid allowed doubling of liquids a few versions back)
