Why is my quarry not working?

I made a quarry, set up the land marks correctly, and am trying to power it with 2 stirling engines (each containing 64 coal), and I don't understand why the engines aren't powering the quarry.

I checked, and the quarry is much less than 62x62 large and I have it set up to pipe out what it produces.

How long have you waited? Before starting to dig, the quarry will first remove all objects within itself, such as trees or soil. Then it will begin to assemble its frame. And when that is done, THEN it will begin to dig.

Of course, none of this happens unless the quary has power, so Riuga's question is a good one...

Yes you're gonna need power in order for it to work, the engines need a redstine signal, and then you have to wait for the whole thing to "rev-up" before it finally starts digging. I find quarries to be really slow.
 
Quarries can't be "slow" but they can definitely be underpowered. This quarry falls into that category. A quarry accepts ~48mj. Those 2 Stirling engines will yield only 2 mj combined. So it's going to be a while.
 
Guessing mining turtles.

One thing to note is you should probably have cleared the trees and whatnot before setting down the quarry as it'll spend time and energy to clear blocks that it will just destroy rather than harvest.

We have a mining well frame quarry on our server too, nothing special about that. It's just quite a bit more complex to set up.
 
1.5 will probably make the quarry more popular again... if only by removing other cheap and easy options :p What with frame machines no longer available and Computercraft making mining turtles consume durability on their tools...
 
Yep it might. But I have about 5 other ideas that could take place of the frames. You can use other stuff instead of turtles for the frame thing though... So they might still be usable.[DOUBLEPOST=1369736849][/DOUBLEPOST]

Nothing complex about it... You just need to have done it enough times, that and there're are different items you can use for a frame miner other than turtles.
