I specifically chose an Outback biome to build an outdoor base area. I wanted to have a roofless base in my new world but I hate being rained on. According to the wiki the Outback biome is arid, no rain.

And yet...

I've been working in the biome for a few days and it never rained until just now. Although I was in a nearby jungle biome when it started raining, and when I walked back to Outback I expected it to stop like when you walk into a desert biome but the rain continued :(

Any ideas? I suppose I could build a glass viewer ceiling at 200+ height...

EDIT: Not sure why the image embed isn't working. First time trying it.

Arid doesn't mean no rain in minecraft

Ah, that sucks. I guess I'll invest in a glass ceiling. Don't feel like hunting down a desert biome and moving everything again :(

You can use acclimatisers or whatever thye're called.

Acclimatisers change bees. How would that stop rain? Is there a machine that can actually stop rain? That'd be great.

If you have Xeno's Reliquary enabled, you can make a Hunter's Handgun and load it with sand shots. Just fire it into the sky whenever it rains to stop the rain.

Ummm, it actually does rain in the "outback" (whatever that term is supposed to mean) of course rain is rare but it happens.

Also the term "Outback" is a VERY broad term referring to a wild untamed plains. Aridity is not a requirement but not exclusive.
