White screen of Death?

Tried to run the launcher and got white screens, after 10-15 mins the launcher started up, but it shows no mod packs or anything. Not sure what to do.

Same happened to me. Relieved that it's probably not my comp.

Go through the steps provided in the top thread. (chances are it wont work)

then post the information they need. This can only help them solve whatever the issue is faster.

In other words follow this guide first to install it the recommended way. If you have a mac be sure to read part 4a carefully. If after following those guides you still experience problems please provide a console log posted to pastebin.com by clicking on the 'Paste my log to pastebin.com' button. You might have to close the launcher window out of minecraft, but the console should stay open for you to click on the button afterward.
