reminds me of when I played vanilla and manually mined a 64x64 hole to bedrock, put a staircase down and covered the top with glass. Everyone on the server was quite impressed.
Modded minecraft says "pssh....holes....whatever"
I'd rather just plop something down and let it go rather than having to work for it. xD
My friend did that once...then he moved into a hole in a mountain and never did such a thing again.
I started working on a bigger one
...didn't finish though as I decided to start on a very large creeper statue if I remember correctly, lol.
