where did they hide the iridium?

i have ran 2 64 by 64 quarrys currently running 2 more and did a lot of mining by hand and still i haven't found a single iridium ore.
any ideas what i'm doing wrong or is it just that hard to find?

Check your gregtech config. It should be 1 in 5 chunks, so with 2 64x64 quarries you should have gotten about 6.

IIRC the number in the config is 20.

You should explore in the Nether. I found 3 in 15 minutes.

The nether is the best place to get it as the chunks are smaller and the ores are obvious against the landscape of the nether. Just running around with a rock cutter and a jet pack should get you a few. It is how I have found all 8 of my ores so far

my config says 20 thats why i was wondering what i was doing wrong are there rules for iridium spawning in mystcraft worlds?

Mystcraft uses the normal generation of Overworld according to the biomes. Dense ores breaks this, though, as has been reported. All types of ores will spawn when they are disabled in configs. The way it works is probably that it will just run ore generation more than once so you should get more of everything.
