I heard rumors floating around and i decided to look it up. To my excitement, TFC was coming to FTB in a few weeks! Wait. that post is over 100 days old. I really like TFC and FTB and would like it if we could have it on the launcher. Also support from creeperhost, and not having to set up your creeperhost server to have TFC. (Which is really hard imo.) So, what does everyone think?

I don't think that TFC will ever be in Ultimate or any of the more publicly advertised packs. TFC makes it hard to gather the required resources the most of the mods are based around, and it makes it impossible to make proper use of some mods. The only reason some of the mods work is because TFC generates some basic ores, like copper an tin, and adds them to the ore dictionary.

He is not asking for it to be IN Ultimate. There was talk about a modpack just for Terrafirmacraft itself. Maybe with added NEI support and that is it. It is basically a stand alone mod.

You could add in Smart Moving, too... Installation for TFC is hard, and easy installation would be great.

There's also a Buildcraft port for TFC (as a general rule of the thumb, TFC is incompatible with everything unless it gets ported), as well as several smaller addons by the TFC community (wooden clubs, leather water sac etc.)

You could easily make a pack out of that. I'm honestly not sure why it hasn't been done yet. They planned it back when 1.5 wasn't even out.

A modpack with just TFC, SmartMoving (or similar), NEI, Damage Indicators (may be nice with TFC?) and REI's/MapViewer/Zans etc map, that seems like a nice combination, in addition to the various Addons Etc.

Thank you! I didn't even know about this! That would be awesome to have as a modpack! Do the FTB mods read random threads, or would I have to message one of them about adding this?[DOUBLEPOST=1371749499][/DOUBLEPOST]

I'm not sure about this, because TFC is making minecraft about as real as it can be, and having a minimap with radar and knowing the health of a mob isn't very realistic... I liked Omicron's post. TFC, smart moving, a buildcraft port and community added TFC stuff.

Moderators read the forum (so they can moderate it), but only a small number of the modpack devs are active here. They're more likely to be over at reddit, or on twitter.

Should I post this onto Reddit? I'd love if TFC was easy to install, plus maybe other mods and CreeperHost support.

EDIT: I checked over at /r/Feedthebeast and they said they're waiting for TFC2.

Installing it isn't too hard, it's just the regular Forge installation plus Player API. Which is fairly regular if you commonly play with mods like Smart Moving or Aether II.

EDIT:
Yes, I do play with the Aether. Of course, not at the same time as any other mods in FTB, because that (at least to me) seems fairly impossible.

I'm sorry but.. Gregtech. Although I really don't want to see it in Ultimate. I would like to see a separate pack though. But before a TFC pack I'd love to the RPG immersion pack have.. better stuff. As in, not divine 'RPG'. but I'm just ranting.

There's a difference between GregTech making other mods more difficult to use, and Terrafirmacraft making other mods more difficult to use. ;)

Industrialcraft is made more "difficult" by GregTech because it makes the macerator more expensive.

Industrialcraft is made more difficult by TFC because TFC removes the vanilla terrain generator completely and replaces it with its own. And that custom terrain generator does not spawn vanilla stone. Not a single block, not anywhere. It doesn't exist. And as such, Industrialcraft cannot generate its ores anywhere, meaning it is completely unusable. UNLESS someone makes a port of IC2 that uses TFC's copper, tin, and pitchblende (uranium) ores. And then you still don't have any rubber trees, which would have to be added as well, since the way trees are handled is completely different in TFC too.

TFC is not a content mod, it's a total conversion. Mods made for vanilla Minecraft are not compatible unless coverted. Period.
