When the lack of tin is fixed will I have to make a new world?

The title is my question

EDIT - Don't make this a big argument please.
I was just asking this because of...
A: the rumors on Redit
B: my 55x55 quarry is barely producing any tin

What lack of tin?

Are you mining on the wrong layer?

Most likely.

Lack of tin?
in the Mindcrack pack there is a serious lack of tin to be found, i was just wondering if i would have to generate an entire new world to get more tin after the fix[DOUBLEPOST=1357077215][/DOUBLEPOST]

If it was a real problem then no.. Because you could just use a mythcraft age to get all your ores. Or If no ores you could use the old tried a true method of traveling to the Nether... Traveling a far a distance in the nether.. Making a new portal in the nether.. And profit from the new chunk you just loaded when entering the new area you never traveled too before in original game.

The last method works because for everyblock you travel in the nether is = to 4 blocks in the Overwold.

Then most people would just use a train to travel from the Nether portals in the Nether..

Its work but can be done.

Which is why the mystcraft is the better option. ;)

If you still don't have enough tin, you can turn on the generation of tin for other mods in their configs. Just don't turn on IC2s tin and copper generations because the IDs for them conflict with other mods.

Silver: 15-35
Tin: 25-50
Diamonds: 0-16

Not sure, I'd use the second value myself as I know I often see surface iron when exploring.

Personally I've been okay with tin. I don't mind having a shortage of minerals midgame to some extent - it means it doesn't feel overpowered using quarries and turtles and such since you still feel short on minerals at times

I have much more trouble with copper, dumping all my rich slag into it. About to have to start doing mass thaumcraft transmutes for it.

It's mostly because I'm dumping 2.5 stacks of it into my nuclear reactors pretty regularly. That's a real drain :/

I didn't even make a nuclear reactor on my newest server yet because of the lack of copper :p

Hearing "lack of tin" when I get more that a stack per chunk mined gets a little confusing...

Do remember that the ores used are made so that you won't just find everything in the 1-16 Y levels, making it more worthwhile to quarry and explore caves.

You have to consider, that you can't just dig down to level 10 and expect all ores anymore. They only spawn in seperat layers, so if you search something special go to its layer

Due to how I dig, with the new ore generation I end up mining on levels 8, 24, and 40. With the new ore gen this will net you everything and gives you multiple floors for most ores. If I need any silver I also mine on 16 (notice all multiples of 8, has to deal with reach).

There IS a lack of tin in the MindCrack pack. Check the data that cww256 posted in the Reddit thread.
I'll cut the numbers out, here is the amount of Tin generated by each of the different ore gen options over the same 30x30 chunk area. Note that Thermal Expansion is the only Tin generation turned on in the pack.

TE: 25743
IC2: 70615
Forestry: 44240
RP2: 41217

So yes, almost 1/3 of what IC2 would generate, and 1/2 of what Forestry/RP generate = it's too low. If you think it's okay, then it must fit your playstyle and that's good for you but it's not good for everyone. Doubling it would be a good fix IMO.
