When I can't think of anything else to try making, which happens pretty often considering how much I suck at building.
At least I don't think I'll run into the wall of boredom that is obtaining way too many resources passively, since I hate quarries.

I miss sorting machines and pneumatic tubes - while I really love applied energistics, it's much more of a challenge to get everything automated with p-tubes. I don't miss the lag, though!

When finding a world to use I get bored if the biomes are uninspiring.
When the biomes are inspiring I can build things like nice buildings and machines.

Just a Disclaimer* I do not mean the type of biome I mean the terrain gen.

Yeah, good terrain gen keeps things going for a long time. I looked around for a bit before deciding where to stay. I'm glad I stayed where I am though. Ocean view baby. Mountain, forest, swamp, desert and ocean biome all within a 5x5 chunk area.

Worlds tend to end before i get bored with them.

If I lose the muse on a build I just throw all my gear in a chest and head out into the wild find a new place and start over. It is not uncommon for my single player worlds to have half dozen full scale bases scattered over the map before an update forces me to abandon the world.

But my suggestion. If your bored start over, if that does not work play a diffrent game for a bit.

I agree with your philosophy, Saice. I have no problem with pack updates that require a new world

I have been playing in my world for 2 months. I am not bored yet and i also have quite a few mods to learn. I tend to get very attached to worlds and build gigantic bases each with its own purpose. If i keep playing in my FTB world i would say it could last me at least 2 more months. Although when I do get bored i normally keep my world, and maybe like 6 months later i would open it up again, just to see it again. Also how long does it take for you to get bored of a multiplayer server? I imagine it would take a while considering other people playing and more things to do. And also how much does it lag on multiplayer FTB servers? i manage to make my FPS drop to 7 or 3 sometimes if i do too much in my SP world.

I'm an epic grinder. I love to get my quary working as soon as possible. Sometime a creeper surprise me and explode a stair case and my leather armor. I realize it gonna cost me 5 more minutes to repair and therfore to reach the quary (or another higher tier) and I can't stand it. So I delete the world and start a new one.

Yeah, I'm pretty much hardcore I know XD.

I got bored in my last world when everything just built up to the point of I had tons of space fleets, tons of cool builds then running out of ideas shortly after and realizing I only used 1/100th of my resources..

Sometimes, I get bored of a world when I decide to build something and it ends up in a way I don't like. Recently, I decided to switch from AE to LP but for me, they have more disadvantages than advantages. I set up so many pipes, of course it works for my sorting purposes but I don't like the fact that they take up so much space and it is hard to automate smelting with them..either you need to set up several machines for every smelting recipe or you need to attach pipes to every side to make 1 smelting/compressing recipe...Maybe I will switch back to AE and have fun in my world again.

In general, I get bored when I have no idea what to do next (that's the case when I build so many different stuff around) :)

In general, I've found myself experimenting with different systems. Last world, I used Tinker's for the beginning (going for smeltery as the ore duplication), this time I tried dartcraft (and quite enjoyed it). Not sure what my next world will be, but I'm quite liking logistics pipes for automation, although the crafting and request system is more buggy than I like, and it won't interact with ME chests (requires interface and controller, which is more than I was expecting).

Next time I might even try the IC2 route again, or possibly something else.

Well, I just started a new world and I gave myself a challenge..or at least a huge project. Process each kind of resource in a different place...like have a flour mill, a rancher, a bakery, etc....then I want to setup a minecart system to pickup/drop-off items...I love AE, but this way it won't seem easy as just ordering new bread in the AE terminal ...or whatever.

I get bored of minecraft itself on and off and stop playing for weeks or months, or at least bored of a style of playing and move to a completely different mod(pack) (usually cycling between FTB, terrafirmacraft, and vanilla hardcore). Then when I start being interested in minecraft again, I still have no feel for my old world and start a new one.

I personally like to become overpowered with top/endgame tier stuff as fast as possible.

I find things like Thaumcraft, Mystcraft, and Twilight Forest more interesting/fun/useful before you have a Gravity Suit and Vajra. But I'll never change my ways. A gravity chestplate is still the first thing I go for. lol

I get to this point, and then I can try a new modpack. lol

If you haven't tried Modular Power Suits, I highly recommend it. I used to love my GraviSuite until I started using MPS. There's some very cool stuff in MPS that Gravi doesn't have.

I tend to start a new world, spend most of my waking hours in it for around a week or so, then quit for a few weeks before making a new world. Going through the early game repeatedly is not a problem for me, as there's generally a dozen different ways to achieve any goals in FTB, and I like building different styles of base from scratch. I'm the same in other games - I'll start an RPG thirty times to make different party combinations, but only two or three of those saves will make it to the end of the game.

I'm the same. The journey is more important than the destination, i.e. the process of progressing is more fun than being progressed.

Every time I start a new MC world, I'll try a different approach, ex. starting with Thaum rather than Forestry. This last time around, I didn't build any vanilla tools except for what recipes called for (ex. iron pickaxe for mining well for pump) and used all TC tools. TC is very fun when used from day 1. Ditto Thaumcraft.

At some point, I'm tempted to rush to the Nether and effectively start in the Nether. With Natura and NetherOres, the Nether is *almost* a viable start option. The problem with the Nether is no cobblestone or other vanilla blocks we often take for granted. I can't even build a piston to build an engine without cobblestone. I might have to allow myself to NEI up a stack of cobblestone a day, for instance, if I do a Nether start.

Water, while difficult, at least stays in the machines and tanks. It just doesn't survive out in the open. Not sure if a TE Aqueous Accumulator will work in the Nether.

Hmmm..give me an idea for a mod : NetherStart. One of the basic machines or forms of magic is to convert Netherrack to Cobblestone. Water could be extracted from Natura wood and mushrooms.

I used to get bored in worlds.. Until I started placing limits on myself and challenges. Like build a village in a specific style, with a section for farming, animal pens, a miners house, a smithy house, etc etc. It makes it alot more fun and challenging

Agreed. Every new world I make, I tend to bring more self-imposed rules, ex. no lava power, solar, quarries, EE3, or DartCraft, and everything has to look 'nice' and be somewhere I'd like to live if it existed in the real world.
