Strolling around, in my test world.
I had super-cheat armor, and power suit leggings, boots, and hat. (The power suits were equipped with everything fully maxed out)
Two pieces of gravel fall on me while I'm digging stuff out with my cheated-in advanced diamond drill.
Suddenly, I'm dead.

Which mod's responsible for this?

I need to change the client name to "Sand is Overpowered!" now. Brb.

:p

Though, testing a while back, I couldn't get the modular powersuits to offer me any protection. And perhaps the Ultimate Cheat Device either doesn't offer protection (unlikely) or it just doesn't protect you from suffocation (also unlikely, given that a full quantum suit did back in Tekkit?)

Suffocation damage is normally 1 to 2 hearts every few seconds.
Even if the MPS armor and the ultimate cheat armor don't protect you from suffocation damage, you shouldn't be 1-shot.

This would be REALLY OP for a mob grinder, though. If the suffocation damage is the same for other mobs, you could make a soul shard cow farm and then just drop 50 blocks of gravel on them and watch them get slaughtered :D

I can't entirely remember but Eloraam had an enderman farm that used quicksand to suffocate them back on pahicraft right? So I would assume it acts the same for other mobs unless quicksand damages entities differently.

Yea, I saw that farm in one of DW20's LPs and set up a similar one in creative for my automated Saltpeter factory.

I use quicksand in my mob system. It does just that suffocate damage. takes a bit to kill them.

But I like watching them die... slowly.
