...Nah, that'd be quite prosaic. And fitting of the stupid jock stereotype. Very weird and utterly strange, so that does kinda give it a realistic edge over the totally prosaic explanation of spam bots for shitty products trying to abuse google's search system by short-minded and quite frankly insanely idiotic programers who forgot that doing that tends to get you pretty much blacklisted from google searches. And thus we come to the nice place to ask this one: if truth really is stranger then fiction... which of this ideas is more realistic(and by that I mean, more likely to be true)? One applies some common wisdom, and one applies a well known but not universally valid logical razor.

Looks like they're taking advantage of a lax sign up and post policy. Automated "Report as spam" functionality could help. If enough people report a thread the account is locked and the thread is removed until it's reviewed.
