So I'm trying to decide which kind of wood I should use to go on the top of my to-be castle walls. The picture has all the types of planks I have access to as I won't be bee breeding to get to tree breeding any time soon, if ever. Any suggestions?
P.S. I'm going to be changing from the stone walls for my crenulations I just wanted to see what they looked like ._.

The farther to the right you get, the more interesting the castle will look. The other ones are old hat and have been used a lot.

I know, but you'll have to fight it! FIGHT!
It's used so much in builds, that and normal oak. If you were a good enough builder, you could make it unique and awesome, but if you used the green one, you'd make it doubly unique and awesome!

If you weren't in such a green biome (which I can never seem to get), I'd suggest you use either birth logs or acacia logs. Unless you're using Oak Planks, I don't think it ever looks good to make your whole house one type of block. Maybe consider using planks for the frame, and logs for paneling or roof?

Well that's just a section of a wall. My house will actually be a castle. The walls are a minor detail but at the same time they need to blend well. The planks will only be used on the tops of the walls.

Why not a vault?

Or just pull a Chocorate and live inside a cow with legs and head made of iron tanks full of milk. That's always nice. I'll write you a letter of approval if you do it legitimately like I (over 4 days) did.

Hahahhahahahhahahhahaha. Pull a card out of the old EE2 stuff and build an RP2 milk farm. Oh god that'd be funny.

Anyway I absolutely love a medieval look thus the castle.

Then what about a castle with a dilapidated drawbridge that has a huge hole you enter through, and the drawbridge intact is birch blanks and the drawbridge laying around haphazardly is made of that green wood?

Have any other biomes you wouldn't mind living in?
Oh I haven't even settled on a place yet. I only plopped down where I am for the TC dungeon and the pure node far enough away to not get absorbed. I did find a nice over charged node while searching around. It was like 1356/8xx. Was kinda scared to stick around there. But yeah haven't decided at all. Haven't even really build a house.

Oak is pretty great for anywhere. Spruce is good for snow biomes. Oak logs is good for Savannah/Wastelog. Oak planks is good for deserts. Larch or lime or whatever that weird green wood is is good for treehouses.

I'm going with Birch cause I love's it. The green is Acacia though.

You could also combine different types in a pattern of some sort. Usually I like Spruce + Birch, but I think greenish + redish woods (Acacia + Jungle for example) could also look good together. And then there is of course logs + planks in various patterns.
